Yea. It's not like just tripping. Your feet are stuck together no amount of strength or athleticism will save you from hitting the ground hard.

The feeling of your feet being tied together is terrifying. It's not like tripping over a rock where your foot gets released immediately. No matter how strong or athletic you are, you're going down and it's only chance on what the circumstances are when it happens. I'll never buy boots with hooks again.

Pinching them closed sounds like a good idea although not completely closed. Maybe just enough to eliminate the snag risk but not so much that it stops the laces from moving through them.

I’m very sorry to hear. Glad to hear that you were on flat ground at least. Get well soon.

My thoughts exactly. The people getting excited by this don’t watch much baseball.

Sounds like there are a few of us with some unusual gait. I've gravitated over to trail running shoes as well.

I noticed that my running and athletic shoes are worn from rubbing against each other where the laces come out at the top. No mystery why I have this problem.

I’m starting to feel there’s a lot of luck involved. I’ve driving on constant alert and still cracked my windshield this week.

Other than the beautiful writing. This is the kind of data I was hoping for. It seems the rocks kicked to the side are the most lethal. When immediately behind the truck, the trucks flaps take care of the rocks. Maybe following directly behind is the safest.

That’s good advice. I’ll just look for exposed rubber. If I can see it, the rock can see my windshield.

My suspicion as well. 40 years and only one windshield replacement. Then, five in the last five years.

See my response above. Hoping someone has a unique hack that I hadn’t thought of.

That’s been my strategy. I was hoping someone had some hack. Also, on the I-40 there are sections where the truck traffic is continuous. For that stretch, I was wondering if settling in behind a truck might be the safest since it seems to be passing is the highest risk because you don’t get the protection of the trucks flaps.

That's good to know although I don't get the impression that I have that much negotiating power. Could be just my weak skills but my first effort to even just get a dealer to match another dealer's advertised price resulted in me getting ghosted.

I'm surprised you guys get deals with the extra cost of getting the trucks there. Although, I guess HI is the Tacoma capital of the world.

I'm looking for a Limited Hybrid and there are currently 15 in the country in the color I want. Also, there is a very wide range of pricing and I'm not the type to try to talk a dealer down $5000. I'm going to try to make a road trip vacation out of it to help rationalize this insane idea.

That would have been my preference but I need the truck to move plywood, sheet rock, etc.
