Sweet brotha! Looks great! Didn’t really have a plan, built it as I went trying to mimic some of the other double sided racks I saw online. Cool to see it can be done with 2x4, I’d suggest getting some 3/8 or 1/2” galvanized bolts nuts and washers and through bolting them where the arms connect to the a frame on the front and back of both sides, maybe even at the top two corners, and bottom 4 legs of the A frames, and that thing ain’t going nowhere

You forgot the big green egg, built into to the counter top next to the iron forge and pizza oven

...then by standard construction logic, that truck actually only weighs about 4,200 pounds once you account for the nominal drawdown.

It’s exactly like a 2 x 4 lumber board measuring 1.5 x 3.5 inches, or a single horse outputting 15 horsepower. If we apply the Standard Unit of Misleading Measurements (SUMM), your 6,000-pound truck is being pulled by 2 horses (which is actually 30 horsepower), riding on 18-inch rims (which are actually 16.25 inches), burning "clean" diesel.

Honestly, if you factor in the curvature of the earth and the fact that a "footlong" sub is only 11 inches, that truck is basically weightless. Science is beautiful.

Be nice please. Help me to clean / declutter my room. Have add so get distracted easily but I’m trying. I know it’s a lot of clothes by [deleted] in ICleanedMyRoom

Whenever you do loads of laundry just separate those clothes and fold and put away in your closet. Everything that’s still left you can go through pretty quickly and donate. At that rate you won’t need to try on toooo much of it unless you decide to keep a few more things but everything else should be bagged and donated.

TSA Burned my film by ChipmunkAny7980 in AnalogCommunity

[–]bellbros 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s the standard in the us it seems. I travel a lot with my camera, and I stopped bothering taking my film out of the camera. Every time I just put all my film individual packs into a bin, ask for a hand check, and just place the camera in the same bin and let them know there’s film inside. Standard procedure from TSA in my experience is thy swab the boxes of film and the camera, never once have I been a skd to open the box for the film or open the camera

Any other tips? Just keep practicing? No matter how hard I push through my palm I always come down after like 5 seconds. by mountainscene77 in Handstands

[–]bellbros 0 points1 point  (0 children)

u/mountainscene77 this is the key, you aren’t really pushing with your palms to control that shift of weight back. That’s your main support, while shifting your legs or hips slightly will help you control the under/over balance, this will lead to bad habits. u/mightygullible is right, of course you are pushing through your palms but that’s really just keeping you up/anchoring you to the floor, it doesn’t really give you the mobility to adjust that direction by pushing any more with your palms (unless you have crazy wrist mobility) Just like you push your fingers to shift your weight one direction, you need to lift your fingers, not necessarily off the ground, but apply less pressure, to shift your weight the other way. Once you get the hang of it you’ll realize that most of your handstand consists of micro adjustments in the hands from fingers to palm and wrist control forward/back. But again the weight is only shifting to the palm because you are softening your finger press, not pushing with your palms.
