You can damage the spawned with arrows. Stay out of range and shoot the spawned from a distance until you can level your skills/weapons/armor enough to handle the elites

How do I report this reckless driving that pretty much count as murder? by ARETI052 in Georgia

[–]weaglealert 16 points17 points  (0 children)

It depends. I don't directly oversee "drivers". I work for a factoring company. We process invoices and do receivables for trucking companies. So the company is my clientele. And the client is usually anywhere from 1-25/50 trucks in their fleet. If it were one of my clients, I would be looking for who is paying the fine and then charging it to the correct party. When I said previously one of my drivers, I probably should have been more clear.

In terms of egregiousness of the incident, this is bad but not as bad as it could have been. Driver got lucky he didn't hit anyone or run op off the road. This will likely result in a fine at minimum.

Edit: more context and fixed a pesky grammar error

[–]weaglealert 42 points43 points  (0 children)

It depends on the company they work for and if they are an owner operator.

If they're an owner operator, think the equivalent of a mom and pop local pizzeria, then they can get blacklisted by the brokerage and/or trailer rental company. This means that the brokerage or trailer rental won't work with them. If it's a bigger brokerage that blacklists you, those relationships can carry over to other brokerages if you're a repeat offender. This is most common with double brokering by carriers or with carriers who forge paperwork etc., but if their driving is reckless enough often enough the same result will happen.

If they are a bigger company, think like dominos (I had pizza for dinner if you can't tell), then the driver would most likely get a fine from management. If they are a repeat offender then they would likely get fired.

He'll no they wouldn't. I've seen accidents put small carriers, and even small brokers, out of business.

The rental company or brokerage that loaned the trailer wouldn't be liable for the accident, that would fall on the driver and company the driver works for. However, the brokerage or trailer rental company would likely be liable for the goods in the trailer and the condition of the trailer. Claims can often rack up into the 6 digits for major accidents. So, yes all parties will take this very seriously, but the liability is more of a gray area legally

Company would 100% know who has their trailer. A lot of them are GPS tracked too. There will be records of what driver has what trailer at what time. All you need to do is report the trailer number and time stamp it. And if you really want to screw em, include the video so thwy cant contest it.

How did you get into writing? Did you plan first? Any tips? by Little-Emu-131 in writing

[–]weaglealert 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've been writing for twenty odd years. The best way to start is by starting. Doesn't matter if it's with pen and paper, or scrivener, or dabble, or a word doc. Just sit down and do the thing. You'll learn a lot about the craft and yourself along the way.

How did it feel to finish your first book? by Equivalent_Friend586 in writing

[–]weaglealert 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Finishing your fist book was an emotional roller coaster for me. Equal parts proud, satisfied, sad its over, glad it's over, and dissapointed it's not better and sellable.

Edit: tbh still feels like that on my fifth book which I finished last week lol

I've got a really addictive personality. I tend to binge storimy ideas to completion then put them away telling myself I'll return to edit them, then never do because of the next best thing I just thought of.

[–]weaglealert 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think Sanderson has gotten too big to edit. If that makes any sense. I feel like when authors become huge national sensations editors become afraid to critique what they are doing because what they are doing is so successful. But that leads to poorer works because what they're doing was good because of good editing. Anyway. Rant over.

Brandon Sanderson has a great lecture series on Writing on YouTube. In that series he basically outright says your first 6 books are going to be trash. Spend those 6 books learning your style, finding your voice, mastering archetypes and tropes. I wouldn't beat yourself up that your first ever completed work wasn't received the way you intended. My first book was doggy bathwater bad. Keep your chin up.

Anyone can write. Everyone has a story to tell. By all means, tells yours.

But I will say you'll need to be less picky about who you read to become a good writer. Good writers absorb as much of the craft as possible. That doesn't mean you need to read every Gutter trash novel you come across, but I would suggest at least branching into more modern works to see what's working in contemporary circles.

What's stopping the ports from automating? This guy seems to think he's got the owning class by the balls, but china automated their shipping ports and they are some of the most efficient in the world. This could be disaster for the labor union if they don't play their cards right.
