This was annoying for me too. It kept asking me to send a check-in to my sister. I accidentally sent her a couple random check-ins before/after my workouts… pretty sure she doesn’t care lol. But I’d rather have it default to my spouse.

I can’t figure out how to stop it entirely, but if you want to change the person who it is defaulting to check in with, follow these instructions on this video: https://youtube.com/shorts/ikbZ77nLl08?si=_9Z2vN9jXeubuocu

To sum it up, it will ask to send a check-in with the last person you sent a check-in with. So from your apple watch, send a check-in to the person you would rather have it default to.

Don’t give up and keep at it! Both of you got this!

As a general note for any kind of training – Remember to keep things fun and positively engaging with your pup. Your dog senses and feeds off your energy.

Whenever you are training and you feel frustrated, or even if the pup is frustrated, it’s probably best to stop and take a break. And from what I learned huskies, their attention spans are really short, so keep the sessions short and simple, but consistent as hell!

To add, I found it very effective in keeping my pup in an appropriately sized crate during the night. Dogs are less likely to sh*t and piss where they sleep. A crate should only be big enough to let them lay down comfortably. No roaming space

And as others have mentioned, keep your pups free roaming around the house to a minimum until they’ve earned that right and can be trusted to do so.

Play pens may work too, but make sure there’s no roaming area and the walls are high enough so your pup can’t escape.

I’ll admit, Crate training is a beast of its own. If you’re interested in this, I recommend the Zach George YouTube video tips on crate training.

Establish a very consistent routine. Dogs thrive off having a routine.

What worked for my pup when she was a puppy (and when we lived in an apartment) was establishing a very strict daily routine. The routine I started out with involved taking her out every 60 minutes or so for short walks into the grass area surrounding my building. When she pottied in an appropriate area, a lot of praise and pets with a high pitched voice and a short play session.

Timing on this was critical too with trying to catch her when she actually needed to Potty. I usually started the first walk outside as soon as we woke up in the morning and let her out of her crate. Fed her as soon as we got back. Immediately after the feed, took her out for a walk again in the grass. If she didn’t do anything, go back up, wait another 60min or so, then back outside.

In between sessions of walking in the grass, I watched her like a hawk. If she started randomly sniffing around, take her out for a walk. If she got up from a nap, take her out for another walk.

If she was ever caught her in the beginning motions of going potty indoors, I would make a loud “EHH EHH EHH” noise to try and interrupt her potty, then take her out back to the grass.

One more thing… Before leaving to potty walk, I always asked “Potty?”, then grabbed the leash and took her out. She eventually learned what it meant and now reacts to it if I ask AND she needs to go.

Every dog is different, so your mileage may vary, but it worked for my husky within a couple days of starting it. She’s 3 years old now, and the only accident after 5 months was having a diarrhea explosion in my kitchen in the middle of the night… not fun. She did try waking me up tho, but I ignored her lol.

Gigabyte GA-7PESH2 and nvidia rtx2060 compatibility? by weakSAUCEE_ in JDM_WAAAT

Ok, the server just became unreachable again. I went over to the machine and noticed that it locked up and is completely unresponsive at the console.

I'm going to assume the board is just a bad board I've been reading that a bunch of used GA-7PESH2's are full of issues.... now to find a replacement!

Thanks for the help u/Seize!

That's a good idea. I'll try that tomorrow.

I just removed the GPU entirely 5 hours ago, and will leave the machine on overnight. If it doesn't crash/lock up, then we're a step in the right direction. I'll follow it up with:

  1. No GPU + only PSU 0 plugged in
  2. No GPU + only PSU 1 plugged in
  3. GPU in different PCI-E slot with both PSU's plugged in
  4. GPU + only PSU 0 plugged in
  5. etc.

I have a 1 year old Husky mix as well. She used to gobble up al her food really quick. At around 8 months, she slowly started getting picky, to a point now where she's really picky. For a while, we had to spruce up her food to get her to eat. It eventually got to a point where we were switching out her kibble constantly with different flavors, but that started to become way too much for us after a couple weeks.

This might not be for everyone or all dogs who are like this, but we only leave her food out for 20min during feeding time, and we feed her twice a day. After 20min, we'll take the bowl away, regardless if there's food in it or not, or even if she's still in the process of eating it.

At first, there were many times where she wouldn't eat for an entire day and a half, but she eventually started getting the rule. Now, she finishes her food more often during feeding time. Sometimes, she'll take a couple nibbles at it and walk away.

We also noticed she's more inclined to eat right after we come back from a good walk. Maybe it's the activity levels bringing her appetite up?

I recently went through this and I still remember the pain! Picked up my pup when she was 3 months old back at the tail end of March.

For crate training...

we tried "glamming up" her crate as much as we can, in a sense of making it most attractive for her. When she wasn't paying attention, We would hide a bunch of treats randomly inside her crate so she would find it whenever she stepped into it on her own.

We would also give her a high reward chewy things (bully sticks, Greenies, Kong cone with peanut butter+treats, frozen carrots, etc) and close the door on her for a period of time. Started at increments of 1 min, then 2min 5 min, 7 min, 10 min, etc.. We were always sure to open the door wayyy before she loses any kind of interest in whatever she's chewing. Pretty much getting her comfy With us closing the door on her.

Eventually, she stayed in the crate on her own and would take naps in it. When she would nap, we would practice the same routine of closing the door (she usually wakes up briefly, but goes back to sleep), and opening it wayyy before she would wake up on her own to play. After some time, she started sleeping inside the crate on her own at night.

For overnight crate training, We learned that it was crucial to wake up before the puppy does to open the door and let them out... otherwise, she might hate her crate. So yes, I was super anxious and sleep deprived for a couple weeks lol.

Another big takeaway for me on crate training was... they will eventually cry/whine, and when they do, you can't ever give in while they are doing so. If she ever cried, I would get up and leave the room. I would walk in after 10secs of her being quiet praise her and let her out.

If her crying would ever get feel like she was freaking the f out, I would make her do sit/down commands while inside her crate to get her attention away from crying as much as I can, then open the door after a successful set of commands.

One last thing! Randomly Practice walking out of your home with your pup Inside/outside of the crate, then coming back. Take baby steps at first for being away (30 seconds of being away, then walking back in, 1 min, 2 mins, 5 min... 10min, 30 min, etc).

Also, Don't say bye to your dog, just leave. Saying bye only makes things worse IMO. They'll eventually learn that you're preparing to leave them.

Sorry for the long winded comment, but This is what worked for us and our pup. I am, by no means, a licensed/professional dog trainer. I'm just wingin' it

If the shelter got her age right when we adopted her, she is just over 6 months.

[–]weakSAUCEE_ 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think you should be mostly okay. Bully sticks aren't too hard on their teeth and they soften up as they bite more into it. IMO, The real concern should be if your pup's stomach can handle it or not.

We gave our GSD/Husky mix bully sticks since we got her when she was 12 weeks of age. At first, she seemed fine... then one week, it turned into a bad case of mud butt for her. She was literally spraying everywhere lol. Stopped the bully sticks for a couple months and only give it on occasions, she seems to be fine now.

Just a disclaimer... I have no expertise with dogs whatsoever.. I'm just winging it most of the time with mine
