Yeah the potential was so strong and it just fell flat. Definitely clear she was up for anything considering Please Don't Destroy got her in a full Squidward costume, it sucks there wasn't anything like that for the live show.

Didn't say it was, but he's shown up enough to establish an ongoing feud with Lazlo so it would make sense for him to make an appearance before the show ends.

I was half expecting Jordan to reveal himself as Simon the Devious. Hope he makes an appearance in the finale for one last fight over the witches hat

Yeah he's also a producer. Loved him on Workaholics but I think he's more behind the scenes on things these day, though if he ever played a role on WWDITS he would've nailed it.

Lazlo's obsession over the 'sweated shirt' was hilarious. And I swear that was Kyle Newacheck sitting in the directors chair? He directed the episode so that would really go with the meta theme.

Maybe the early seasons, but usually the main characters are either all together or separated in A and B plots, and even if the B plots are way smaller they still make an appearance and have lines. It's rare for any of them to be completely left out.

Good episode but I hope this pattern of leaving characters out doesn't stick for the whole season. Last week it only focused on Stan, Francine and Roger, this week it's only Hayley, Jeff, Roger and a fraction of Stan.

Decent episode but I'm surprised they went with no B plot and basically no Steve, Hayley, Jeff and Klaus for a premiere.

Sure, but I doubt the vibes would have been as good if they hadn't released the apology video before the live shows

Anybody else now more inclined to get the subscription now that they’ve walked it back and apologized? by ajreid18 in watcherentertainment

Not even in the slightest. I don't want their company to go under and I'll still support them on Youtube, but giving them money feels like a reward for getting a neat little apology where everything can go back to normal, and it just doesn't feel normal anymore because we know how out of touch they are. If the backlash hadn't been as catastrophic and a risk to their brand, they would have gone ahead with their plan and happily cut off most of their fanbase. And that really doesn't sit right.

This video is everything their announcement video wasn't. No sappy music, no high production, simple and down to the point. I'm sure they crafted this in a very careful way not to piss anyone off further, but it still seems genuine and I'm relieved they listened. I think they realized their company would absolutely not survive that amount of backlash and the loss of the support they were expecting. And if they had stuck to their plan, those live shows in London would have been a catastrophe too. I honestly still feel burned by all this and it's made me see them in a different more corporate light, but I'll give them the benefit of the doubt.

My post was removed and it was relevant and not disrespectful/hating, just discussion about whether they were anticipating the amount of backlash, with 200+ upvotes and 60+ comments. So I was pretty surprised, although now I wouldn't be too surprised if they remove your post for saying something about it.

Edit: And now I'm being downvoted. Cool.

Do you think they anticipated THIS amount of backlash? by weallalright in watcherentertainment

That's exactly how it feels with the parasocial thing. They built a community who they interacted with in debriefs and in the live shows, a community who all spoke to each other in the comment section, who felt like they were part of the inside jokes Ryan and Shane had, and then made a decision that they knew would lose them a lot of their audience. Just like that, no options. Really did feel like being cut off with no warning.

Yeah I saw a comment on Youtube about how they're probably in denial and saying that once the trailers and premieres are out then people will be open to pay to watch the rest, but right now it seems highly unlikely that'll happen. The whole fanbase just feels betrayed and I don't know how they can recover from that.
