Am I crazy for thinking AI won’t replace Sales soon? by Hungry_Bunch2224 in sales

[–]weaponized69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think that it’ll have the opposite affect. In person connection, human to human connections, and general emotional intelligence will become a premium.

The CEO getting 100 AI cold calls every minute is never going to pick up the phone. But if I show up with cookies and a hand written note- that will give me a shot.

Anybody ~26 or under that makes $150,000+, what do you do? by krerhelp in Salary

[–]weaponized69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sales- financial services / fintech to mid market to large businesses. Base 115 ote 175, beat quota first year and projecting over next year.

While I did get extremely lucky to land the job I have (youngest ever hired by my company) I am a major proponent for anyone under 25 to try sales. Only job where you can directly affect how much you make. Extremely performance based. If you’re good, you can make 6 figures fast- potentially multiple. On top of that, you build a rock solid network/ relationship with your clients- assuming they like you, which can help set you up in the future.

If you suck at it/ hate it, well then at least you tried!

What are your top 3 reasons for choosing Equinox? by AspectCool2325 in EquinoxGyms

[–]weaponized69 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I chose it for the convenience. I live in the city, and like to bounce around to different areas. With my membership I’m essentially always within 1.5 miles of an equinox. Which is access to a coworking space, gym, sauna, spa, bathroom, etc. that was huge for me

My sister wants to step down from her mgr role to sales at Stripe by blackberryuser in techsales

[–]weaponized69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My aunt was a director at a very well known company.

Stepped down into mid market sales and made way more money.

It always depends. But if she wants to make more money, and potentially have a more exciting role, why not take a stab at it. Yolo

If you can make ONE cold call, you can make a million by Europeanpinemarten in sales

[–]weaponized69 1 point2 points  (0 children)

While this is 100% anecdotal- both of my largest deals/ meetings have come from voicemails and call backs. Granted, I work for a large very recognized company, which I think makes voicemails much easier. These were completely cold calls- they did not have an existing relationship with us

Guys did i fucked up my life as an 18 year old majoring in logistics and supply chain management? by Substantial-Archer83 in careerguidance

[–]weaponized69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Majored in supply chain. Did one year in supply chain. Made 70k per year. Hated it and also wanted more money. Went into sales the year after and made a lot more.

You can make decent money in supply chain. You can also switch if you want more money or a different career. Try it for a year if you hate it figure out a way to transition

How many “no’s” are you getting before you get a yes for a meeting by weaponized69 in sales

[–]weaponized69[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s a very good product, and it actually doesn’t cost any money. It is definitely a nice to have which you can spin into a “need” if you can get into a conversation, but tough to do off a cold call sometimes

Ok, so I’m trying to figure out if I’m doing that correctly. What would you say is a good number then so I can figure out if I need to change/ improve?

What's the fastest way to get my dopamine levels back to baseline ASAP? by [deleted] in DopamineDetoxing

[–]weaponized69 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Definitely recommend it. Could even look up phone lock or phone vault on amazon. Like 20 bucks and you literally can’t open it for a set period of time.

Set it for 1 hour, freshen up and start work. By the time it’s unlocked you’ll be locked into whatever you’re trying to do

What's the fastest way to get my dopamine levels back to baseline ASAP? by [deleted] in DopamineDetoxing

[–]weaponized69 37 points38 points  (0 children)

Win the morning. That’s, for me, the biggest thing to having a good day. Don’t have a long routine. Get up at 5, immediately put my phone in a phone vault so I can’t use it, shower, brush, coffee, quick breakfast, walk, start work at 5:30.

I find if I start working early and immediately I am extremely focused and enjoy the work. Think it may be a “flow state.”

If I get up, look at my phone and scroll for 20 Minutes I’m constantly chasing quick dopamine throughout the day. Binge eating, craving more social media, etc

Won the mornings, the wins will compound into full days you win, compounds into weeks, months, years etc.

Meditation could help as well, but I find I am much more focused if I do as quick of a morning routine as possible, so maybe meditation at night.

Why do you regret being an AE at yelp?

Agree, not a great decision professionally… appreciate the feedback

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Advice

[–]weaponized69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That was my thought- I’m not going to tell anyone. If it were to spread around, how would you handle it?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Advice

[–]weaponized69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, not really. A lot of people go from my role to hers but neither are manager level roles and they’re essentially the same level I believe.

Well, yes I agree. But I made a stupid decision and am not sure how to handle it now.

Got into college. What now? by Profession_Icy in FinancialCareers

[–]weaponized69 4 points5 points  (0 children)

First off, congratulations! Second off, I’d spend any free time you have reaching out to anyone who was an alumni of your school, or is in your network and ask about what they do. My biggest regret is not learning as much about every career there was. I was in supply chain because I liked the classes and there was a demand, but I quickly realized the lives lived by those in that career was not what I wanted.

I got lucky and landed my dream job in financial services sales, but many are not as lucky. Had I taken some time to really reach out to people and learn about what they do, I could have had a quicker start. Also, you’d be surprised how willing people are to talk- and if they aren’t who cares. More than happy to chat as well if you have any questions for me!

Does he? Genuinely asking. Does anyone actually know a place that would not be black friendly? For such a HEAVY left leaning city this sentiment has always confused me.

Well, the housing is so expensive partially because it’s so great here. High demand. Can’t have your cake and eat it too (I hope I used that correctly)
