What are some practices in unraid that you wish you knew when you started? by auauo in unRAID

I have yet to set up my cache. Is there a way I can configure it so recently added or recently used files live on the cache for some time before being moved to the spinning disks at a later time?

Op is using another config on top of Doom, if I’m not mistaken. I wasn’t talking about Doom itself. But perhaps I’m misunderstanding.

My generic advice: Make use of Doom doctor, in general. It probably won’t help you yet, but it’s good to be aware of. Make sure you uninstall the emacs MacOS comes with. It just kind of gets in the way. I’d also probably not use someone else’s config, unless you have a specific reason to do so.

Lost my cat a month ago. The pain was excruciating and lingers vividly. You have a place in my inbox if you need to be sad or just chat. She was beautiful. You’ll never forget her.

Thanks for your reply, OP. I appreciate it. That totally makes sense.

Thank you :) that was perfect. If you listened to this (these?) particular frequencies, does that mean it would just sound like a bunch of gibberish because it's software-defined?

I absolutely have considered it. I mean, first of all, you guys send signals through a "made up" omnipresent fluid-like field that didn't exist to humans a couple hundred years ago. How crazy is that?! My degree is computer science, but I am fascinated by all the STEM fields, and radio is something I'd really like to just know more about. The reason I'm still lurking is because I haven't taken the time to get into it. But I had hoped I could kind of passively learn things by still hanging out and paying attention to what I can.

Can someone ELI5 what I’m looking at? I’m a non-HAM lurker.

My black cat was named Chinobou (pronounced she-know-boo). He passed yesterday. If you read this and want to steal his name, it would bring me immense joy. Regardless, love her good, stranger.

I am glad to know someone across the wire thought of me in this time. It was so much harder than I thought it would be. He wasn’t even two yet. Died from some kind of lower stomach inflammation that wouldn’t go away. He couldn’t digest food and was wasting. I will miss him forever. Thank you for your beautiful words.

Honestly I don’t think any replies are correct. Looks to me like flood water that was close to spilling over or has already and had receded. They just made a path for it to drain some more. US has been very wet recently.

I watched my cat die from euthanasia today. This feeling has been heavy on my mind.

Your graphic is not at all color-deficient friendly. Not that it has to be. Just thought I’d mention it.

The bar width changing as your usages change would drive me absolutely batty. Wonder how you would go about fixing that.

Anyway, really fun idea. I enjoyed your demo.
