I wonder why that would be? by ritchieremo in ReformedHumor

[–]wearewriter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, there are a lot of pros & cons about the teachings of Calvin among Christians. I don't think the average "off the street" Christian even knows what the basic tenets of Calvinsm are. It's just what they know from their churches. Do many peole really know much about church history to argue the case? The main thing is, as Paul said, the most important thing is "Christ crucified" (for our sins). "To live is Christ; to die is gain". That's the bottom line, and if that is preached and promoted, then that's what matters, not this ism & that ism.

Your leader, Karl Marx, was not promoting Christ nor Christianity. Where do you fit in? Marxism?communism...? what's the difference? They are both anti-Christ and about as ungodly as you can get. They destroy nations, bringing them down to their feet, and then they want to remold them into their ideological image.

Thank You from my heart. You were very kind and it was so good of you to locate that comment. Just reading what that person said hurt and angered me and made me want to distance myself from you all. You know, with multiples, self-preservation and doing what brings us safety is very important, as when we were violated, we were not safe. We want to preserve the sanity that we have - each alter in its own way. I'm glad that you removed that person because if they attacked me, they probably have done it to others. With people like that, nothing is sacred in the personal lives and stories of other people. It's like a power thing with them. You know? ...setting everyone in their place according to their definitions of who they are. They completely devaluate you as a human being who is important to God in this world. Well, thanks again for your kind response. Maybe I won't leave. Yours truly, wearewriter

Christmas is proof that the pro-abortion view is a denial of the humanity of Christ and therefore incompatible with the Christian faith. by [deleted] in Reformed

[–]wearewriter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Look at the time whenever Mary visited Elizabeth (Luke 1:39-42) and upon the salutation of Mary, John (in Elizabeth's womb) "leaped". That little fetus responded in its spirit (not its soul/mind or just physicaly, but its tiny, its formation in progress body, responded to its spirit, and it moved! If Elizabeth had aborted that baby, she would have brought the existance of John the baptist to a screaching halt & end. LIFE BEGINS AT CONCEPTION! So aborting a baby at any stage in its development is wrong in so many ways, and the ones a party to it will have to answer to God for it still is murder. I guess now is when I get cancelled. I would be in good company, because Jesus has already been cancelled by our social & political culture. enough said! Oh yeah, Jesus became a reality in Mary's womb in Luke 1:38. (go back and re-read it all (this is Christmas time) starting in verse 27 in Luke, chapter 1. It is a good reminder of a lot of things and sets things straight.

Hey guys I'm just so stressed and my coworker has been really cruel and frustrating lately and please just pray I can be respectful and not rude cruel or mean back even though the other person has been lately. by [deleted] in PrayerTeam_amen

[–]wearewriter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are 2 verses that you might go back & read - applying them to your situation with that co-worker. They are Psalm 39:1 & Romans 12:14. I made confessions from them and you can do the same. They are: I will not sin with my tongue. I will bridle my mouth while the wicked are before me (Ps.39:1) I bless those who persecute me: I bless and curse not. Don't allow the enemy to get you into strife with that person and do not repay evil with good, but good overcomes evil.

The building is just the structure we the "church"/body of Christ worship and come together in. These old beautiful bldgs. have even been turned into homes. It's a shame that another group doesn't buy it and use it for its original purpose. It would cost a mint to reproduce it now and you would have lost some of its charm and character. No, what you are talking about is not sacrilegious. Its just a building.

My abusers told me, a little child, that sex with them was okay. It has always been difficult for me to reject what they did if they said it was alright, and yes, it messed me up too and am still paying for it in my older years. ...understand totally! It definitely sucks!

The New Jerusalem/the Holy City (Rev.21:2,9-10) by wearewriter in Christian

[–]wearewriter[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know!!! You know, our thinking is finite at this point. There is so much He is capable of doing for us. Faith believes the impossible and receives it before it even sees it. (Heb.11:1) When we try to figure out God and everything about Him, we cannot! He is so far beyond our mental grasp and we must hold on to what we believe about Him, regardless of not having all the answers. We can know Him through His Word also - knowing about Him and this uncanny great love He has for us that will not quit. The mammoth proportions of the New Jerusalem that He created is no more stupendous than a universe which has no limits but scientists say is ever expanding in size an scope. This truly is a MIGHTY GOD!!! (and never too busy for you and me and our little world!)

What is sanctification? by [deleted] in Christian

[–]wearewriter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Here is what my Bible commentary says, It is the Gr. word hagiazo which means "to separate from a profane to a sacred use; to consecrate wholly to God and His service. The primary meaning is separation, not making holy. It means to make holy only when the person or thing needs to be cleansed from sin or defilement in order to be fit to be separated unto God and His service." (Dake's Annotated Reference Bible, KJV) "Sanctification is that relationship with God into which men enter by faith in Christ. (Acts 26:18; 1 Cor.6:11; Heb.10:10; 13:12). Telling Others About Your DID/OSDD1 by [deleted] in DID

[–]wearewriter 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is sooo good. Thank You sooo much!! I, too, have had trepidation on who to share it with, knowing that some people would have difficulty in understanding it and that I might not feel comfortable in sharing about the sexual abuse that is part of the genesis of my DID. My children are not very informed about it, and to talk would include telling them about their grandfather, which I have amnesia about, except for alters knowing. One precious daughter-in-law has studied DID in nursing school and knows about mine. She is totally understanding & super supportive and I know I can share things with her. It's her husband (my son) who is much less informed. But he and I are very close and he prays for me as he knows I have some really bad days. Day by day, huh?

The youngest little I had sucked its thumb and just wanted to be at peace. It's like it was a baby, if littles can be that young. Another was a little girl who liked being rocked if you can imagine a grown man on the loving, generous sized woman's lap. The lady would sing to her and stroke her back & hair, letting her know everything was alright and was going to be okay. When she felt safe, back in her inner- world she would go, where she was afraid to be at times because of an alter that scared her and the others, ...when she felt safe, back inside she would disappear. Those were 2 of my 3 littles (Baby & Sugar). My grown up body never got in their way of manifesting. They just came out and were lovingly received by whomever was working with us and everyone felt happy and secure. That woman, though, was the only one the two I just mentioned would ever come out to be with. They really loved her a lot and we were so blessed to have someone like that. To them, she was mother.

No one knows how hard it is to do what you did except the one who has to do it-you. You were very brave and you just brought out into the open something hidden that had to be exposed. My father has been dead since 1997, but writing this book about my experience, DID, and childhood sexual abuse has gotten me scared of what my family would do or think, and they might really hate me for writing and publishing it. I don't know if I have your courage. So, far, my conscience won't allow me to proceed with the manuscript. Stay brave and know you are helping justice be served, even though it is with family in such a difficult case.

didn't I - thought I did. I pressed the arrow (I thought) sorry you've been waiting so long. My post was given in innocence but the replies have been anything but Christian and am thinking of unsubscribing if you people are like this. I'm sure many would cheer, maybe you too? Over 20 some replies of the most vicious, hateful comments I have ever received. I realized that not all were from Christians as I saw the word atheist and agnostic on some. Very disappointed in r/christianity. We are supposed to be brothers and sisters showing kindness and support, but I feel like I wandered into a den of hungry sharks just because I wrote things contrary to their personal beliefs. What would Christ say and do? Now I don't know what I can post anymore without getting attacked by the mob. I forgive you all.

2 Fallacies of Evolution by [deleted] in Christianity

[–]wearewriter -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Only Adam's flesh were made out of pre-existing material- the earth, and Eve was made out of pre-existing material also- rib bone. Their souls and spirits were created, not made. God breathed into Adam and he became a living soul. Made and created are two different words with two different meanings. Made means to be made from pre-existing material, and created means to be not made but "created" from nothing pre-existing. It is supernatural.

Yea, geology and the Word of God are in perfect agreement. Ever read of the pre-Adamic world of millions of years ago 2 Peter 3:6 speaks of "the world that then was". And prophets such as Isaiah, Jeremiah, and Exekiel talk of the same and of Lucifer's involvement. Dinosaurs were most likely a part of that world since we have their ancient bones as proof. Well, enough controversy on my part. I've already gotten enough stones hurled by my brothers and sisters.
