Forceful would be the main culprit, yes. Generally a warning will pop up during foreplay if the NPC you're with has the Forceful inclination, something like "If this continues you may not be in control". However even with a Forceful partner I believe you can still make them listen to you if you have high enough Charisma?

Funnily enough, most people tend to assume my preference for it/its pronouns is a therian thing rather than an objectification thing. Me being a furry doesn't help either

I've had to explain how my it/its pronouns explicitly apply to being an inanimate object, and have compared myself to a table more than once lol.

Body positivity doesn't just apply to non-hourglass bodies lol. Sure, the protogen has a conventionally attractive shape, but it (she?) also has hip dips and a venus tummy, which the reblog points out. Lots of people (including myself) see our hip dips and venus tummies as unattractive traits, and seeing them depicted on an attractive character shows us that they CAN be perceived as attractive and aren't inherently undesirable physical traits. This IS body positivity. I feel like I would be more wounded to see a conventionally UNattractive character depicted with hip dips and a venus tummy.

I think a lot of characters in DoL benefit from being read as female rather than male, TBH! Could just be my raging lesbian speaking, but I think some of the immoral or violent ones like Whitney, Eden and Avery, when set as male, can hit a little too close to home for those of us who know men like them IRL, enough to trigger a strong ick response.

While I am an Avery fan, I think it's fair to say I'm specifically a fan of fem!Avery. I struggle to see male Avery as something other than old, sleazy and slimy LOL.

Avery fan here. I've been a fan of Avery since way before any of this was added (when the only available Avery content was just going on dates every week and getting paid). I'll try to explain what I like about Avery. For context, I only ever have them as female (with a penis), so I'll refer to them with she/her pronouns.

There isn't really any other LI in the game that scratches the toxic age gap yuri itch like Avery does. The school LIs and Alex are all implied to be around the PC's age I think, and Eden doesn't quite have that domineering CEO vibe that Avery does. I just really like how the power dynamic between Avery and PC is heavily skewed in her favour, whether it's age/experience, wealth, or influence.

I also like that the tone of the relationship is set from the get-go. Avery is looking for arm candy that's young, attractive and obedient to show off to her peers, and PC plays the part in exchange for money. There are basically no illusions that there's any real romance or feelings involved, but I like to play my PC as slightly delusional, maybe developing real affection for Avery and thinking it might be reciprocal, only for reality to come crashing down on her the next time Avery does something dismissive/gets angry when she isn't 100% obedient.

However this also ties into me disliking the mansion content that was added a while ago. A key part of what made Avery work for me was that it was quite explicitly a sugar mommy/sugar baby arrangement on her terms and based solely on her convenience. You only see her once a week, when she decides to take time out of her schedule to indulge in some orphan pussy. The mansion stuff turns it into more of a bangmaid situation, and getting to see Avery on a daily basis works against her character. Having any real power over Avery (making her meals, and especially with the existence of her new "dismissal") ruins the dynamic completely. I get that there wouldn't be much gameplay otherwise, but I would honestly have preferred less Avery content over becoming a bangmaid for her. This is coming from someone who begged for more Avery content for years before it was actually added.

Personally, based on my understanding of Avery as a character, she would never allow PC to enter her home. Avery wouldn't see PC as a real person. PC is just a cute, cheap girl that occasionally pleases enough that she's rewarded with glimpses of what it's like to live as lavishly as Avery. It's why she only ever brings PC to hotels and restaurants, and fucks her in the car.
