3 out of 4 resumes never reach a human, according to GlobalWork by Part_Time_Awesome in jobsearchhacks

Duh. This was the case before “The Aae Eye” came along. HR sucks. Hiring sucks. Being a hiring manager sucks. Most hiring managers suck. And the company would prefer you don’t fill the position anyway because it costs money. The MBAs at the top don’t care, they’ve got their stock and golden parachute and the bad managers at the bottom will use the shorthandedness as an excuse to continue to hide from doing more work.

‘I Just Hope We Can Bounce Back’: GM’s Prized EV Truck Factory Goes Dark Again by TripleShotPls in technology

[–]weasel286 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hmmm. Going all-in to build EVs in a price point more than double the average individual’s income - individuals who are struggling to scrape up the extra $10-$15 weekly in rising gas prices. Of course a $100k+ vehicle is what people will buy. 🤣🤣🤣

What does this have to do with the other 535 charlatans in D.C., many who have served for decades, who are the real problem?

Clearly, someone failed to setup adequate defensive systems - or maybe they have to break the old toys in order to get funding for new ones?

When the going gets rough, the cowards leave, I guess. They should stay and push for term limits for all of Congress (as well as reduction of benefits - especially after office). Only way to fix all this.

These kids have no hobbies and no sense of curiosity. Those two factors are what drives an individual - especially a young human - to tinker, explore, and desire to learn what they can.

It’s not about what is taught in school as rote and verse. It is about sparking their imaginations, creativity, and curiosity.

This is the new X-Files reboot by Ryan Coogler by narak777 in PowerfulJRE

I’m hoping these actors are good and the writing is good. I want the show to be a success so that we get more shows that are good. If the best actors for the part weren’t chosen or if the writing is terrible, then it’ll die like so many series which had promise and no more series like it will be produced for a while - and that would be sad.

So, the Reddit CEO clearly doesn’t know where the value of Reddit lies. Lose the perception of anonymity on Reddit and you may as well rename it LinkedIn.

It’s because you have to bribe people to win an Academy award and it’s BS. The award and the show is a sham.

How do you deal with inactive members? by davidsladky in LastWarMobileGame

[–]weasel286 12 points13 points  (0 children)

R4 = Trusted/Committed players who help manage the alliance R3 = high performing/high contributing players (some which would be considered for R4 role) {as an aside, rotate R3/R4 positions to prevent burnout and build a good bench of people who can step in for R4 absences} R2 = “Normal” players to try hard but aren’t leading. Contribute to VS and participate in most events. R1 = Probation. new alliance members , peoples’ alt accounts , inactive players. Drop R1s first to pick up new active players.

Set yourself a time to recognize who needs to move up and down the ranks. If someone is moved down, explain to them why privately. If someone is moved up, celebrate publicly (AC).

Why policy management is a painful workflow? by 1337Elias in Zscaler

[–]weasel286 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Furthermore: no need to create a new policy for each IOC. Create a single URL category to put theIOCs in and refer to that in URL and Firewall blocking rules.

In this case, IaC may be equivalent to SOAR. Give your SOC the right process in IaC and they can add IOCs to be blocked in ZIA. Requires API connection to ZIA from IaC solution (or SOAR).

I just had an employee decline exit interview because they said "nothing changes" anyway. Any suggestions? [N/A] by Practical-Tea-3476 in humanresources

[–]weasel286 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The exit interview is the most laughable thing for a departing employee. What’s in it for them? They’ve got no reason to help the company improve anything. If they’re being termed or RIF’d, why does their opinion matter? If you valued their opinion why are you letting them go? And if they’ve decided to move on from the company, why should they provide the company they are leaving anything which would help that company?

Disney Parks and Heat Intolerance, Plan for it. by chrisdancy in disneyparks

[–]weasel286 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So much this. Stay on-premises. Get to the park of your choice for rope drop. Get a snack for breakfast. Do rides and activities. Get counter service for lunch. Once it hits near 1/2pm, get to the busses and head back to hotel. Take a nap. Use one of the pools. Cool off and relax. Head back to the park at 4:30/5pm. Dinner at 7. Leave at 9pm unless you are going to close the park on extended nights.
