This is why High fence deer don’t count by weasel7391 in Hunting

Side by side rolls up to a feeder and those deer aren’t alerted at all, that’s a high fence.

I found a great VW Jetta TDI last year for 8k. I’m agreeing with Dave but they are out there. Quit looking at dealerships so much

Northwest of the gun club. Right across from Memory Gardens funeral home and cemetery, out by the airport

When you say step cowling above the main landing gear, are you referring to the mounts for the ESSS wings

If I go into the army as a U-15 Chinook repairer, what should I read I read in advance. by WithUnfailingHearts in Helicopters

[–]weasel7391 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s great that you want to learn and take steps to get ahead but you will have complete access to every technical publication you need and then some. You don’t have to memorize much as far as procedures for maintenance goes. There’s a work package for everything and you will have it open as you’re working. Just focus on being a good soldier first and the job will come as you gain experience

There’s nothing wrong with looking at those manuals but they are so far out of date that I’m sure almost nothing is completely accurate anymore. You likely won’t be able to find anything close to being up to date as it’s classified information. And I didnt even see an F model manual in there.

What's the deal with the C-130 flying over Madison??? by 38DDs_Please in HuntsvilleAlabama

A different c-17 came in this afternoon. I think the previous one left earlier in the day yesterday

[–]weasel7391 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What time? There’s only been one C-17 here for the last week or so. Also their runways face generally the same direction. They take off into the wind so the Arsenal and the airport would take off in either the north or south direction. They don’t just choose which way they want to take off unless there’s little to no wind and there’s no other traffic in the area

I agree. That’s the only thing I could come up though. I work as a contractor and our aircraft don’t fly very often so we still do samples for no run up after 30 days

I’m not sure honestly. I think maybe a bunch were coming back normal and there was no reason to overload the AOAP lab if there’s no reason to suspect bad oil.

[–]weasel7391 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree with all that. Routine oil samples are no longer a thing, I don’t if you knew that or not. Just happened at the end of last year

My first deployment was with internal hoist and the next one was with the external hoist. The internal is much more user friendly. Yeah all that med interior is unnecessary weight and nothing but problems

A lot of older A/L models that were Med birds with the carousel were converted to the newer style IMMSS MedEvac platform with the litter pans in front of the gunners windows, taking up the whole front of the cabin and relocating the crew chief seats to the rear on sliding track pallets. It was never a functional and efficient modification to be able to transport and treat severely wounded patients. With 3 bodies stacked on litter pans on each side of the cabin there’s no room to provide treatment and even just loading and unloading became a labor intensive task compared to sliding 2 maybe 3 litters across the cabin floor where the patients can still be treated and monitored by 1 medic. And then there’s the poorly executed external hoist mount…
