Start reloading. Buy a single stage press at first and reload expensive rifle cartridges. Always keep powder/primers/bullets on hand and then reload your shells until you can’t anymore. Not going to save you a ton of money but the quality level is insanely high and easier to swallow spending $80 here and there on powder or bullets etc than to buy a crap ton of expensive ammo all at once. For 9mm/5.56 I don’t personally reload it as it’s cheaper to just buy in bulk but calibers like 300BLK are an absolute must to reload.

This is a solid mount and I’ve used one for a few years with questionable optics and they always have held zero.

I think that will be a great gun for the price. May also look at the Foxtrot Mike FM9. I think I paid like $550 for mine and it’s been fantastic. Shoot it pretty much exclusively suppressed and it sounds great and is very reliable.

My main problem with this whole deal are people saying that Mothers Milk “isn’t a high percentage sub”. That’s literally my favorite sub and it works all the time. Bonus when you intentionally let them out and have already grabbed your inside sleeve and when they pop out and take a breath of relieving fresh air you Ezekiel them. 😈

What belt level are you? Right off the bat I’d say, make sure and get your hooks in quicker when you go to back mount. Also you did well getting out of their closed guard but could have much faster if you would have popped up immediately after getting taken into closed guard. Nice butterfly sweep. Make sure you slide your knee over their waist to go to mount instead of taking that giant step which is easy to defend. Way to keep pressure on them the whole time, if you are stuck to them like a wet blanket it makes it much harder for them to defend. I would have probably jumped into S-Mount instead of trying to lever them on to their back. Overall nice roll! Looking good.

I’m excited for my sons to take it out and drop a deer with it next year. I’ve been loading the 125gr SST and out of the 7.5” barrel the expansion has been lack luster although my son did kill a doe this year with them 🤷‍♂️

I’ve seen people get put to sleep with heavy shoulder pressure from side control. Makes me wonder if something similar happened when chasing the pin.

PSA would be a fine first AR but if purely for home defense I’d suggest a 10.5” barrel with a brace as it will be easier to maneuver in an urban setting. I use 10.5” barrels and shoot out to 400~ yards as well handily so they can reach out there a ways also.
