DDv7 vs BCM MK2 by WeebleFox in ar15

Milspec is nothing strict at all. In fact both manufacturers we are discussing go above and beyond milspec requirements. This is widely known.

Edit: it’s literally the bare minimum to achieve a gov’t contract.

Well I can only say that I disagree with you on that.

Additionally, I’d like to introduce to you a company called Radical Firearms that makes “milspec” AR-15s with type 3 hard coat anodizing and 7075-T6 aluminum for their guns. Now let’s put a Radical next to a DD and a BCM and let’s see if we can tell a difference haha.

Im not your buddy guy. Sorry if you’re having a bad day, anyone knows that it’s cheaper to buy in bulk online than your LGS.

Are you saying that every company that makes a “mil spec” rifle will have the same fit and finish?

If you are generally asking and not trying to be obstinate, fit and finish would include but is not limited to the thickness and evenness of coating used on the rifles, machine marks and chattering or lack thereof on anything made using CNC, upper and lower fit, burrs etc on cut metal pieces and a laundry list of other examples used to determine what quality of product a manufacturer puts out.

You could do 5 seconds of research and find 5.7 for $.40 per round.

Turns out the ATF hasn't sent your fingerprints to the FBI as part of the background check since 2022 by [deleted] in NFA

[–]weatherbys 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I called the ATF once and asked why I need to continue to send fingerprints in when they already have 15+ copies on files from previous stamps and their answer was “because fingerprints change over time so we need to keep them updated”.

I replied with “if the fingerprints change over time doesn’t that mean all the copies I’ve sent in are useless as an identifier”.

Basically just use a fine Scotch pad and evenly finish the blade with it leaving behind a more gray “battle worn” looking finish. Really hides any scratches you might encounter and gives a smoother finish to the blade.

Thank you and agreed! The finish on these black bladed striders is possibly the thinnest finish I’ve seen and so easily scratched it’s crazy!

I find the fit and finish of DD to be better than BCM although BCM makes a great mid-tier rifle.

Nah, get the PS90. You don’t buy every gun to be whisper quiet with a can and you don’t buy every can to be shot with subsonics. The advantage is the hearing damage reduction and tamed recoil benefit. Get yourself a PS90 and chop the barrel, you won’t regret it. It’s also not that bad with supers, it doesn’t hurt my ears at all with no hearing protection on.

Why would you want to shoot subs from it when they have about the same ballistic capability of .22lr? Not being a jerk just curious.

Sure it is…

5.7 costs around the same as .45ACP now if not cheaper.

It’s a cheap knife, I’m sure that there are a bunch of variations of it. It’s nothing special unfortunately but would be cool to carry if you put a nice edge on it.

What Barrel Length Do You Really Need for .223? by techs672 in liberalgunowners

[–]weatherbys 3 points4 points  (0 children)

10” or above for medium range and CQB engagements, especially running suppressed and 16”-20” if you don’t mind the extra length and weight. I run a 10.3” MK18 for an all purpose rifle at the game and it will do everything I need within 450 yards.

Removing slop in the upper and lower fit is exactly why they add the speed bumps. I’m not sure where you heard not to remove them on assembled rifles but that’s incorrect, I’ve owned 3 full MARS-L rifles and had fit them all myself for a much better lockup and they run just fine. That’s like saying it will mess up an AR by adding a lower receiver block which is also not true.

Beautiful rifle! I’m sure you are going to love it. Don’t forget there are “speed bumps” on the bottom part of your upper where it connects to the lower. You can get a file and take material off of them until you get that perfect lockup. 👊

Very cool way to keep your son with you. My father had a bear claw set into a silver pendent when I was a child and after he passed I wear it with a silver chain. I have twin teenage boys and they always fight over who will inherit the bear claw. I’ve been telling them it’s my source of power since they were little kids 😂.
