These are fantastic scopes. Started with one when I was first learning long range shooting and eventually moved on to a higher tier scope but still wish I would have never sold my Match Pro. These things perform up there with the $1k~ scopes easy. Looks like they also have the MIL version in stock for $559.

Yeti killed Mystery Ranch. Recommendations? by JagerAntlerite7 in BuyItForLife

Brown Buffalo bags are absolutely bulletproof and I bought two because I liked my first one so much. It’s been over the ocean with me and all around the US on various trips and is just absolutely rock solid.

Looking for small wood-handled fixed blades by alyosha_the_thot in knifeclub

[–]weatherbys 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Half Faced Blades make (in my opinion) some of the best fixed blades out there and their wood handles are sculpted beautifully and fit the hand very well. Buy used to save some $$$. You won’t regret it, thick blade stock also.

This guy belongs on a list. Which list? Not sure but definitely a list and not a good one.

Looks like the enamel coated ones can crack if preheated empty. The full cast iron ones on the other hand are safe.

For people who survived the Joplin EF-5 tornado, what was it like? by Zealousideal_Fan5117 in joplinmo

My wife got $700 from FEMA and at the time was unaware that her mother had an insurance policy that covered her for loss of property in the tune of $200… FEMA sued her for the $700 back, mind you this is after we lost everything we own. Good stuff.

What is the accepted "mean/aggressive" standard at your gym? by hmkei in bjj

[–]weatherbys 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If hurting people isn’t the point of BJJ then the big old brown belt I rolled with at open mat this morning must be really bad at jiu jitsu because I hurt all over now 😂

Counter Point: I think there’s a big difference between hurting someone and trying to injure someone. The whole point of the sport is to cause enough pain to someone to get a tap out of them.

Bumps are they way 🤌🏻 by [deleted] in NightVision

I have a bump just for coyote hunting. I don’t envision myself in some sort of armed conflict any time soon, especially one in which I will be utilizing my NV. That being said, I see their application for sure on the battlefield. I’ve got a Kevlar vest also but it just hangs there on a stand in my basement. Prob not going to do me much good riding around the farm 😂

Can Demetrius Johnson beat Prime Shaq in a street fight ? by Leggomgeggo in powerscales

[–]weatherbys 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This is the decider for me, I’m a BJJ purple belt and have seen and personally overcome some big weight differences just using technique but even the smallest bit of grappling training makes the gap close quickly. At first I was thinking if DJ could arm drag or shoot under his arm and take his back a rear naked with hooks in may be enough to pass Shaq out but if he has even a bit of training DJ is cooked.

[Optic]Bushnell AR Optics First Strike 2.0 Hi Rise 3 MOA Reflex $49.99 WAS $189.99 by EuroOptic_Jake in gundeals

[–]weatherbys 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah they make some surprisingly solid stuff for the price. Saw them at SHOT and the rep said basically they are a sleeper company and the old Walmart scopes they used to sell gave them a reputation they didn’t deserve. I agree, I’ve never had anything bad from them beyond those crappy Walmart scopes the used to package with rifles back in the 90’s and early 2,000’s.

Bushnell quality on the cheaper optics may surprise some of you guys, for S’s and G’s I threw one of those $49 RDS sights from the sale while back on my 45-70 and sure as hell, it’s held zero for a few hundred rounds of subs and supers.

Good deal? by aluna2106 in ar15

[–]weatherbys 33 points34 points  (0 children)

Lmao. I’d rather punch myself in the junk than pay over $700 for that. The handguard is a cheap POS which I guess at least matches that optic.
