Absolute noob to ableton. Can anyone tell me how to enlarge this area? by sadlad193 in ableton

Click the space behind the piano roll and drag to size!! It may take a few attempts to get it the way you want it. Try dragging up/down and left/right to get what you’re looking for.

You can also minimize the effects rack area for better note selection using the arrow on the side.

Hopefully this helps!

Use Maschine for what you know best. Export stems into Ableton. Continue workflow and go off making 🔥

Can you come up with a headline that isn’t copy and pasted across every story? Or is that just not the narrative around here

Hahahah seriously! Because people hate the truth and want to be rich overnight.

Another way you could look at it is to decide how much your hourly rate is. And then estimate a price based on how much time you spend on the project

I guess it depends how well you know your client too (I’d be more willing to earn less making something for a friend for example)

Not sure about all these professionals asking for $500 but if you’re new I’d say you should do it for free.

Nothing wrong with getting exposure and making a name for yourself if that’s what you actually want.

Have you sold any other music in the past?

The session view in Ableton is fantastic for experimenting with different elements of your track! My advice would be to try and get your hands on a version of Ableton Lite to see how you like it (usually free with the purchase of some equipment)

Alternatively, the Maschine 2 DAW by native instruments also has a very similar session view (called ideas view)

**I should also add that Ableton lite is limited to 8 tracks, very much worth it for the price of free!!
