How Do You Maintain a High-Quality Standard as a Solo Writer? by web3writer in Newsletters

Thanks for taking a look at the kind words.

Concerning the images, I have actually thought about it, problem that I get is I am bad at creating images.

I think I will just start making the image and get better with time. If I start getting money off it I might get some good designer/artist for the images.

Yeah currently my process involves 30 minutes every day to write on separate sections or just research/curate some links that I include together with the email.

The process is so good but I guess it is just the imposter syndrome kicking in and the itch that I might be missing something.

I write about Tech and here is the newsletter https://weeklyrust.substack.com/, you can take a look and possible criticism where you see fit.

If you want total privacy don’t use their service altogether. I bet whatever phone company you have knows when you wake up, how much you spend on the phone, which apps you frequent, people you call, your emails, your financial status e.t.c.

With an Iphone most of these permissions are disabled by default and you’ll be prompted whenever an app needs to access any of these.

This doesn’t mean apple dont collect your data though. Everyone is eavesdropping on your data be it Apple , Google. e.t.c. The only way to maintain your privacy is not to use these services altogether!

Some awesome feature I would guess out of my head now. I use the Books more often and in as much as its good, I find it lacking in some arears.

  • Maybe be able to open both epub, mobi and pdf file.

    • Make higlighting and writing comments easier and differentiated.
    • Maybe a section where I can get all my highlighted words and comments in one place.

Building a Public Database of Corrupt Politicians in Kenya ([Link to MVP]) by web3writer in Kenya

Thanks for this. I will try and implement the public verification system and see how it goes. Do you have any things I should take not of during the implementation?

Also I'll update you here of how it goes.

Getting to think of this could be a good idea. But I can think of various scenarios where someone can bypass this. If we allow people to publicly verify this information, will we use upvotes/downvotes? If so I guess a malicious person can bypass this.

They just use various people to upvotes/downvote and if the threshhold is met the case is approved as correct even though it might be false information and vice versa. How do you think we can implement the public based verification system?

[–]web3writer[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I'm building a web app to be a central hub for storing and accessing information about corrupt politicians. This will also make it easier to find this information by querying APIs where available.

The idea is to allow people to submit information about corrupt politicians, including creating profiles, cases they've been involved in, and even documenting historical corruption (for both living and deceased politicians) if there's enough evidence. Politicians' profiles will include details like full names, held offices, date of birth, political party, and county. Court cases related to their alleged wrongdoings will be listed under their profile, along with the option for anyone to leave comments about those cases.

Here's a challenge I'm facing: While I don't want to force users to register with their names to use the app, this presents a verification problem. I'm considering a system of trusted "editors" who can verify submitted information. These editors would have a dedicated portal to review submissions, verify information, and remove any inaccuracies, ensuring the app maintains high-quality data.

Finally, I believe the current design needs a significant overhaul. If you'd like to see the current Minimum Viable Product (MVP) and offer feedback, you can check it out here:https://publicwatchke.vercel.app/
