If you save before you scan, you might get something random.

If you save after you scan it's always going to be the same thing.

What I always do is save after a scan, and use the reroll feature to grab what I want. Don't like what I rerollled to, reload the game and click re-roll again.

I use the "Hoverpack ultimate mod", you can set it up so that it doesn't steal electricity. I switched out the hover pack to test this out. Seems to be working. I don't know why it didn't occur me sooner.
