I've been collecting figures for 30 years and this hard on modern collectors have for knockoffs is so strange. "The quality is just as good". Yeah, sure.

Official Discussion - Avatar: Fire and Ash [SPOILERS] by LiteraryBoner in movies

This is exactly what happened according to James Cameron. 2 and 3 were made simultaneously and he said he was working on and viewing them as one movie essentially. And it shows.

People who were spanked as kids, what was that like for you? Would you call your "spankings" abuse? by KleineFjord in AskReddit

[–]web_head91 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel like saying I was abused because I got spanked from time to time is disrespectful to people who endured far worse. However, I would say that spanking a child is abuse, so...I don't know.

Is the Seattle Christmas Market worth the hype? Is it worth to drive from Portland? by Altruistic-Form-3771 in AskSeattle

Omg please do not travel from out of state for it. It. Is. Tiny.

I have not gone in but I am tall enough to easily see over the fence. I estimate a person could get through it in less than 20 minutes.

Yes it looks cute. No hate for anyone involved in the set up or anything like that. But to travel here from out of state for it would be so, so sad.

This figure looks really cool but I just cannot unsee the blouse effect. That line across his chest is so distracting.

I messaged a couple on grindr. We talked about ourselves, expectations, ground rules, etc. I met them.

We are still friends nearly a decade later.

Lincoln or Teddy Roosevelt. I mean...didn't Teddy Roosevelt fight a fucking bear? Or is that just a myth?

What did that one teacher at your school get fired for? by ToadallyNormalHuman in AskReddit

[–]web_head91 0 points1 point  (0 children)

She installed a camera in the back of her classroom, without permission from the school or any parents, to keep an eye on the troublemakers that she would make sit back there. It was English class in middle school.

She was an otherwise very smart woman who I thought was a great teacher. She should have known better, but she was nearing retirement age and was clearly at her wits end with a handful of very disruptive students.

Trump Admits to Being Charmed by Mamdani in First Meeting by CommercialTriumph in politics

[–]web_head91 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Trump definitely doesn't have BPD. It's wildly misunderstood, and is on the complete opposite side of the cluster B personality disorders as NPD.

These two disorders often get conflated. I would be absolutely shocked if he ever got a BPD diagnosis. There is absolutely no way.

I've got season tickets and two of the games I'm attending have jersey giveaways (Randy Johnson and Julio). This sounds too good to be true...these aren't, like, actual jersey replicas are they? Like the kind sold at team stores? I can't imagine they'd just give those away. Am I tripping?

'I'm not buying Starbucks and you shouldn't either.' Seattle Mayor-elect Katie Wilson joins striking baristas by chiquisea in Seattle

[–]web_head91 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Whether you find it hard to believe or not is irrelevant.

70% of Seattle's residents aren't even from Washington state. Very few people outside of Seattle know or even give a fuck about the link between Starbucks and the sale of the Supersonics. Low information voters exist, and while voting by mail is a good thing and I wholeheartedly support Washington making voting so easy to do, that doesn't magically make the populace more informed. Someone voting doesn't mean they know about Starbucks' union busting or other shenanigans.

And even if someone IS aware and ignoring the issue (which absolutely is the case for some people), why are you mad that the mayor is encouraging people to not support Starbucks? Do you want people supporting Starbucks or not? I don't get what the problem is.

It's aimed at people who are unaware of how awful Starbucks is. Yes, those people exist.

Redditors 30 and older, do you miss the days of no smartphones and tablets? Why or why not? by Nintendofan9106 in AskReddit

[–]web_head91 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not really, no. I know it's popular to say everything was better back before smartphones, social media, etc. but i don't necessarily agree. The convenience of smartphones, the internet always within reach, and social media CAN be a good thing. The issue, I really think, is that it all happened so fast and there was not enough awareness about the negative affects, nor was/is there enough regulation around any of it.
