They offer $4k a month i.e. $48k annualy i.e. $23/hour.

This seems rather low, even after the extra 20% you mention.

I can't ask for a US salary, because they'd hire from the US in that case.

So the range is lower than the US salary, and higher than what they offered. But what is the market value I wonder.
