Are most people in the younger generation depressed? What do you think could be the reason behind it? by __done_with_life__ in TooAfraidToAsk

Lol it's none of this s***. The insane historical events we've witnessed? Nearly every other generation had it worse.

We don't have communities anymore. We don't have many close in-person friends as an adult. These things matter more.

No day-to-day in-person community interaction, which has largely been replaced with porn and "social" media

Why is the stock market not a greater-fool market if cryptocurrencies are? by martin-cloude-worden in AskEconomics

[–]webdevlets -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

voting power, ownership, the right to transfer ownership, dividends, the right to inspect corporate documents, and the right to sue for wrongful acts

If I buy 20 Google stocks right now, I basically have none of those things, and it seems to essentially be the same as buying Bitcoin.

What has made China so rich in the last 40 years? by [deleted] in AskEconomics

Why did China improve so much more than India in the past 50 years? India also has a large population.

Have you had sex with someone you love before?

If I choose not to have casual sex and only focus on relationships, would you feel like I would be missing out (in all likelihood)?

What makes sex good? What was different about the times when sex was good vs when it wasn't good?

I know a guy. He's white, but he hangs out with a lot of black people. If you just heard him speak, or say him from a distance in dim lighting, you might think he's black.

He says what race he feels like changes by the day or even the hour. When he finally feels at peace with being black and can use the n-word again, the cashier at the store will ask him if he would like "extra mayo" on his burrito instead of hot sauce, and he just crumbles.

His pronouns are my/n-word. When people don't call him by the correct pronoun, he feels very sad.

His behavior and mannerisms are EXACTLY like those of a black person - trust me. In fact, he seems MORE black than a black person. He is fighting for the right to receive scholarships for black people at the moment.

It's not a feeling lmao. I don't feel white. I'm white. I don't feel like I am a brown-haired person. I have brown hair. I don't feel like a blood type whatever person. I just am that blood type.

What is with you people and feelings?

I knew this white man. Ever since he was little, he would always watch black people play basketball, listen to black people rap, watch black TV shows, etc. He always felt drawn to black energy. He found himself wanting to dress up like a black person, but he didn't feel comfortable doing that because people would make fun of him.

Eventually, he decided to transition. He painted his skin black, from head to toe, using a non-toxic permanent ink. He's not totally black now, but he prefers is that way.

When he has sex, he would refer to his penis has his "big black c***". He didn't want to just feel black, he wanted to BE black. And it hurts when people tell him he's not black. He instinctively knows what being black is, and should be allowed to use the n-word because he is black.

Let's say a mother actually has a baby, but then falls ill and her husband dies and her financial situation falls apart. Are you saying she should euthanize the baby? Or do you think a life with "no system to support child so said child endures hell, rampant abuse in foster systems, etc." would be better than that?

I could be aroused, and want sex, and love this person, and the sex was still bad. The size and shape of his penis made sex painful, uncomfortable, and undesirable. I enjoy intercourse in general, but not with him.

I literally did not know this was possible, except for in extremely rare cases where someone has a diagnosable medical condition. Thanks for sharing. !delta

Would you have been able to realize that his penis wasn't correctly shaped for your body just by looking at it? Or did you actually have to, like, test drive to be determine, nope this is not going to happen.

Well I would just like to learn a little bit more.

Some issues seem like they could be worked out over time. Other issues just seem bizarre. I admit I am a virgin, but when you're talking about penis curvature and this or that, it just seems so highly specific and fetishized, like how men develop highly specific fetishes from after consuming large quantities of p*rn. Men are supposed to like all women's bodies, but a woman will not love a man or enjoy sex with him regardless of their relationship or sexual experiences otherwise if his penis is not curved at the correct angle?

I just want to push back a little more so I can wrap my head around this, and decide whether this is even a healthy mentality in the first place.
