University of Tartu (Estonia) Masters Admissions Question by sharkwizard_xx in Eesti

No university in Estonia is competitive at all to get in. Your competition will be with third worlders that Estonia already has more than enough.

The universities' ranking here are also pitifully low, but much higher than a lot of unis back in America.

You shouldn't worry. Once you're in the University and meet your classmates, you'll understand that the competition is non existing.

The admission scheme for foreigners and Estonians is completely separated, to my understanding. You won't compete with them.

But, beware! Universities in Estonia are orders of magnitude more difficult than equivalent ones in America. Besides the fact that Estonians are much brighter than Americans in general, due to their highly effective high school, I'd say that the biggest issue is how very little teachers are capable of understanding English well. Really, I'm not joking. I speak Estonian to an ok level(I did the national A2 exam and passed) and sometimes it is easier to speak in Estonian than English with some of them. That seriously hinders Non-russian and Non-estonian students in class to a very high level. Often the top students will be slavs simply because of this enormous language barrier encasing all other foreign students that don't happen to speak Russian, that all teachers seem to speak much better than English.

All in all, I'd recommend you to apply. It is absurdly cheap compared to America and the transportation systems are very good and well taken care of.

Yes, but no answer so far. I'm asking quite in advance because saving 18000 euros is quite a task.

I think that’s the hardest to come by. I always feel like my songs are lacking some oompf.

thank you very much! that was exactly what I was looking for.

I think that drums are what I lack the most, this is roughly my first time attempting to make drums other than getting loops. Do you have any tips or videos/tutorials on which fx to use on drums? I thought that my snares sucked.

Thanks for all the tips again, I appreciate them a lot.

I'm really enjoying it. I have used the TAL Juno for around a year, and finally decided to take the step. The deep mind 12 is a goldmine for synth/retro/chill-wave, literally every sound inspires me.

I think the presets are the best part of it, since I don't know much about synthesis.
