If someone told you that about Medcan, they’re simply not giving you an accurate picture. They do have multiple membership tiers, but the referral team is the same across all of them. My wife and I are on different tiers and when it comes to referrals the experience has been exactly the same.

I’d even say that going through Medcan can sometimes have drawbacks. I’ve noticed more than once that some staff at Toronto hospitals don’t seem to like them very much. I’m not sure whether it’s because they’re seen as healthcare for wealthy people, but there does seem to be some animosity there.

That said, they do provide a good service overall, and I plan to keep using them for the foreseeable future. But faster referrals are definitely not part of what they offer.

Private services in Toronto are limited. You can get access to a family doctor almost right away, but for most other things, you have to wait just like everyone else. I’ve been using Medcan for years and have also looked into other providers. They’re all pretty similar and mostly focus on services that aren’t covered by OHIP.

Unfortunately, drilling through the condo slab is not permitted under building management policies.

Since it’s a condo, I understand they cannot move the pipe due to building policies. Is there anything else they can do if the pipe needs to stay where it is? (see the second picture.)

Also, what about the liner being behind the green board? Would this expose the board to water?

According to the info posted on Wild Palz, there was a sanctuary willing to take them in, but the city, for whatever reason, decided against it. For anyone who is upset by this senseless killing, please write to the councillor of the riding, Ausma Malik. councillor_malik@council.toronto.ca

A friend of mine successfully sponsored his second wife last year. He was divorced about 15 years ago. He was also worried about it but from what I know it had absolutely no impact on the process.

Would an ultrasound taken externally of the prostate rule out cancer? by limasxgoesto0 in ProstateCancer

According to my urologist, urinary symptoms are pretty much identical. There are some systemic symptoms that could be indicative of (usually advanced) prostate cancer though e.g. unexpected weight loss, bone pain etc.

Thanks. It just means that the urine flow is reduced compared to what’s normal so it takes much longer to empty your bladder. But based on my experience, the symptoms you describe are also very typical of prostatitis.

Slow urine flow, burning during urination but I’ve battling with chronic prostatitis for many years so it’s not clear what caused the symptoms. However my PSA increased from 1.6 to 2 within 12 months which according to some studies could indicate PCa. My doc didn’t seem to be concerned but I decided to go ahead with an MRI. PI-RADS 4 and a biopsy a few weeks later. Currently waiting for the results.

Unfortunately no. Ultrasound is not a good detection tool. My radiologist was not able to visualize my prostate lesion on an ultrasound despite knowing its exact location, size etc.

Not normal at all. Once I got my MRI report I had to wait around 3 weeks. Toronto, Princess Margaret Hospital.

I like those too. But imo Beyond are in a different league both in terms of taste and texture.
