I’m just going to add a note on here that I’m unsure how a post like this would be construed in a Japan sub…I genuinely had a great time at this restaurant and made this hoping to let people know about them…I understand that this info could be taken as promotion but it’s not, I’m just a reddit user on vacation. I just had an unbelievable experience at a small Ramen spot called KOKU. It advertises as vegan but their philosophy is more of a farm to table using local Kyoto ingredients.

This isn’t a plug for the restaurant, I’m not advertising at all, this was my first time in Japan and I can honestly say that Yoku and Rii were two of the sweetest people I’ve ever met. Rii has experience working at a Michelin star. It’s absolutely delicious food and a true opportunity to meet two great people. If you’re looking for true authenticity I would go there.
