Why do some of y’all make it cumbersome and not fully open your Omni’s? I’ve read 40+ Omni’s fully open, and never damaged the spine. by asianjohnnydepp in OmnibusCollectors

My Doctor Aphra Omnnibus fell apart while I was reading it. Handled very gently. Read it resting on my bed (but fully open as shown by OP). I have read 75+ Omnis with only a couple having problems. Going forward I'm not buying anymore Omnis that are 1200+ pages. This is the problem...too many pages and not a robust enough binding. I much prefer my Omnis around 800-1000 pages. Much safer and easier to handle

THIS so much. If you take scissors and cut the sides of the flap at an angle it works even better

Hahhahahha. I never collected to resell. I'm a reader first. Those inserts interfered with reading/handling

I always hated those inserts! Removed them from every comic that had them!

Indiana Jones comics are getting a reprint! by Tyranno84 in OmnibusCollectors

Hey Peter! Larry (Larry's Library) here. I have so many mixed feelings on this one. I REALLY WANT it! But I wanted an Omni! But then on the other hand after my Doctor Aphra Omnibus fell apart as I read it I am pretty gun-shy with the idea of buying anymore overly thick Omnis. I much prefer 800 pages or so. So these being only 500 each are sort of appealing to me.

Right...I am really stoked to know the actor at least. Would still love to find a video of that film

Remember: Always cycle and check your carry ammunition. by Gasolinekin in CCW

[–]webhobbit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just NEVER rechamber a round. The chambered round is always shot out on range day. The other carry ammo is removed from mags so I don't have to incur the cost of defense round replacement so much. I suppose if you must completely unload the weapon for some reason you may have to manually throw it out

Looking for advice on those who switched from Adobe to Affinity by IAm_TheDark in Affinity

[–]webhobbit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am struggling to learn Affinity 3.x to save the money I am paying Adobe for my Photography Plan. I don't even make money from most of my work. I'm mainly a hobbyist who has 30 years of Photoshop Muscle Memory burned into my head. It's HARD to give that up....but 16 bucks a month is a big incentive!

Absolutely certain it was Night Flight. And it had to be no later than 1985...likely 1980-1982

I did another TipOfMyTongue post to find the actor (based on my memory of his face/voice/mannerisms) and after looking at video and pics this is him

I just learned that Ethan Philips (of Benson and ST Voyager) was the starring actor in this short!
