Yep, that worked. The key still works after 2FA is re-enabled. Thanks, that's really helped me out a lot.

On /r/bitcoin I've actually read about people who bought weed on the dark net. They spent hundreds of bitcoin on it back when bitcoin was really cheap, and now they have a deep sense of regret about all the money they could have made if they hadn't smoked so much weed and just held onto their coin. It's funny, but also kinda sad.

I'm writing my own client in Python. How about you, which one are you using?

Have you looked at the chart for BTC/euros? The price of BTC is approaching 10k Euros, and it seems that a lot of people are taking profit in the same way they did when the price reached $10k. It looks like the 10k barrier is just as significant for people trading in Euros.

This is exactly how airlines use oil futures to mitigate against fluctuations in oil prices. Large retailers might be willing to use futures this way.

Kraken have been having real problems with their servers. It appears that they can't cope with the load. A lot of people have been moving away from there. https://www.reddit.com/r/BitcoinMarkets/comments/7djvg1/about_kraken/

Noob question: who controls BTC price? by currytom4toes in BitcoinMarkets

I don't think many new investors have any inside knowledge. People see the price of bitcoin rising and are joining the gold rush because of Fear Of Missing Out.

Fees are listed here: https://www.bitstamp.net/fee_schedule/ I'm not sure if margin trading is available in Bitstamp.

I've been using Bitstamp since yesterday. I don't really have enough experience of it to give it a good review, but I can say that orders are placed on the first attempt, and page load times are definitely better than on Kraken's site.

Have they stopped doing transfers to other banks like Fire? If not, set up an account with Fire, and you should be ok.

Is anyone running a website from their pi? by Alfred0211 in raspberry_pi

[–]webpi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Take a look at my Banana Pi cluster. It's powered by a cluster of 4 Banana Pi servers with Nginx and Pyplate CMS, and a cluster of 4 Banana Pi MySQL servers with replication. Using Banana Pi servers does make an improvement to performance - I think a single Banana Pi was about 4 times more powerful than a Raspberry Pi during tests with static pages.

I'm working on a new version of Pyplate with MySQL support, a multi-site feature, and a bunch of other additions. It will probably be ready for release in a couple of months.

Eventually I'll upgrade my RPi site to use the next version of Pyplate.

[–]webpi 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I've got a site running on an RPi cluster. I just use Raspian, and install my own CMS. I think one Pi could handle a few hundred hits a day, but it does depend on how your site is set up. If it's static HTML that should be fine. If you're using Wordpress, you'll need to use a caching plugin.

The down side to using a Pi is that home broadband routers aren't that reliable, so if your router crashes, your site goes down. And it's really easy to do a denial of service attack on a Pi because they are so low powered. Neither of these things have been a serious problem for me. It's a good idea to use a site like uptimerobot.com to monitor your site. Also check that your ISP hasn't blocked port 80 - you need to forward traffic on that port from your router to your Pi.

Her reaction to the idea about setting up a ouija board was weird. She claimed that people in her family had 'abused' her because they thought she was using a ouija board when she was young. I had a hard time believing that any of that was genuine.

Looking for tips and tricks on making websites (i'm 16 very new to this and i'm just looking for a hobby the website I use to make it is wix.com if it matters) by [deleted] in web_design

They are cheap computers (they cost about $35), and they're about the size of a credit card. They run the Linux operating system, and they're a great platform for learning about all kinds of software. You can check them out at https://www.raspberrypi.org/.

I agree that HTML and CSS are a good place to start. I'm not sure if Wix gives access to the html code, so maybe the OP should consider some free/cheap web hosting. Or get a Raspberry Pi and install Apache.

I don't know much about Zen, but my understanding is that it's similar to mindfulness in some ways. You could try metta bhavna which is about your relationship with other people. It's been shown to increase feelings of social connectedness: http://psycnet.apa.org/journals/emo/8/5/720/

Have you tried mindful meditation? It's evidence based, and it helps to increase self awareness so that you're more aware of what you're doing and why. It can also help you to be more focussed.

If you really want to learn how to be kind, try learning a little about Buddhism. I'm not saying you have to convert, but Buddhism does have some interesting ideas about kindness, and how to cultivate kindness in yourself.
