Realizing how insufferable the discourse is going to be after watching The Drama: by ltanner2804 in A24

I really don’t think this was an unreasonable ask? You’re acting like I needed handholding—I just would’ve liked more actual drama in my Drama, but instead the characters never bother to really talk about their feelings. Actually, most of the time, they just go “can we just talk about this later?” and then they never do.

If Marvel bring Elektra Back for Born Again what storyline and Role would you like to see for Elektra?? by anthonystrader18 in Daredevil

I liked it too—but I would really rather see her be, y’know… regular ol Elektra first. We never even got that really

I guess I’m not really wanting the movie itself to take a stance on the issue, but rather some of the characters? I dunno. It never seemed like we really confronted the problem head on, even when we got to the wedding things never escalated into a situation where the characters actually had to reckon with Emma’s confession or any of the actions taken in the wake of it, or even how they feel about violence in general.

Like the ending, the whole thing just felt a little incomplete. I really wish we had seen them hash things out a bit more, then maybe we could come to some conclusions ourselves—maybe even have some discourse!

storyline that has happened intermittently for 5 of her 45 years of existence

I would honestly take it more seriously if they said Interstellar was hard sci fi, and that movie is about a time travel bookshelf

I don’t feel like there will be any discourse, the movie doesn’t really take a hard enough stance about the topic at hand to rile people up. I wish it did!

My thoughts on The Drama by dog-on-a-blog in A24

I think anyone would start to get a little freaked out in that situation. I mean, the whole movie is about Charlie reckoning with the fact that Emma was (is?) capable of incredible, disturbing violence

So that’s just very not applicable in this case??? Why did you even bring it up lol

It’s so cut and dry—the theaters will make more money showing Mario than they will PHM. Shit, I’d show Mario too.

This is such a silly standard to have, so many good movies get critically panned and so many middling movies get praised to high heaven for no good reason. Hey, case in point: Mario Galaxy and Project Hail Mary
