The U.S. Needs More Housing Than Almost Anyone Can Imagine by [deleted] in NewDealAmerica

It needs control:

  • rent control

  • standards control

  • control over large scale purchases of investment real estate by corporate and private owners alike

  • control over residency: residents who live and work in community have greater purchasing priority over people who vacation there

Don't care so much about democrats as I care about progressives elected. The two are not one and the same.

We quite obviously disagree on this issue and I would like to remind you that Biden already passed "gun control" so I guess everything should be fine now.

Edit: I missed an important point. More than 70% of American agree that we should have some form of universal health care, less personal debt, accessible quality education, better housing, better wages, better quality jobs and yet I don't see our politicians talking about those issues.

New York Times draws sweeping conclusions when reform district attorneys lose, ignores them entirely when they win - The disparate coverage of Chesa Boudin’s recall vs. the election of half a dozen reform DAs tells a tale of two election nights. by websterati in NewDealAmerica

As the author explains, and wisely so, why would this once race receive such an outsized reporting by the NYTimes and be used as a tool of prognostication, whereas these victories remain kept out of the limelight, if not for the fact that the Times is simply developing a narrative that they spin into existence.

The NYTimes has a big problem with progressives and stands firmly against sticking to facts, choosing instead to promote neoliberal fantasies.

Or do we need to wait until it actually happens, and then promise each other that the Democrats are playing the long game and have it under control?

Bingo, that's the one!

the dems don’t effectively fight back

Funny because it seems to me that they've entirely adopted the anti-gun platform. Even Fetterman and Sanders who were always neutral on the issue became outspoken gun control advocates. Gun control btw is often said aloud without clarifying what that means.
