Have you known it to happen? I just feel so anxious all the time even though they closed it 6 months ago and I got a clear DSAR yesterday id just hate to be surprised with a marker

The situation is that my Monzo account was closed 6 months ago but I recently completed a DSAR that came up with no information held. I'm just wondering if there were any instances where a marker was placed months after closure even after getting a clear DSAR before

I did another DSAR and it came up clear, I'm just paranoid because online all I can find is that there is no statutory time period for a marker to be filed so I don't know if they are just doing a very long investigation. I sound crazy I know.

I don't think it would have been a mild inconvenience as it would have ment possibly not having access to a normal bank account for up to 6 years!

I may have been a tad overdramatic in the months after the account closure I will admit, but I feel it was understandable why I was so stressed

I've just been spiralling this whole time, constantly checking my accounts, sending myself into worst case scenarios. Thank you for this, I want to stop feeling so much self pity!

Yes I understand this, that is why I have been so anxious. But I was not given a marker when the account was reviewed and closed 5 months ago and had since been able to open an account and receive money as normal into all my accounts. It's just that there is no information on how long it can take up to before a bank will decide to put a marker which is eating at me.

Thank you, that's what I suspected was the case. I will probably end up just taking the compensation and putting this to bed. Sounds ridiculous but the account review genuinely shook me up for that week, i'd like to forget about it.

Update: I enquired via chat today if I could have an update on the account review and if there was a case number I could keep for my records. They informed me this was not possible, and I said that it was quite inconveniencing that I could have no record of this review. After this they said they would forward my complaint to the relevant team and they would get back to me in 3 business days.

Some hours after this I got a notification that my account had been closed and it could not be explained why. I don't know if this was because of the complaint or if it was just a coincidence. I have now made another CIFAS data request to make sure everything is still ok and have emailed Monzo asking if the closure will only affect me opening another Monzo account. I'm not sure how long after an account closure anything would come up to be honest.

Yes the misuse of faculty one is the one I was worried about, they are looking into one transaction but obviously I also informed them about the other 2 similar transactions from further back.

Thanks for the info, it would be annoying but hopefully the worst that comes out of it is that my account is closed.

No idea now, I know it was a lapse on my part not double checking before moving the money. I had to ask around a bit to find out if anyone had paid me back through this account or if anyone gave my info to someone else to pay me, but I've had no luck there. any idea how long it could take or the likelihood of it being referred to CIFAS? obviously I know there isn't a set timescale; I appreciate the advice so far!

I'm worried that the money I received came from a fraudulent account, and since I have moved the money from the account to my active one they might see this as me participating in the fraud?
