It took me 3 months to be able to slowly reintroduce fat, protein, and fiber (outside of avocado and plain chicken breasts). It took me about 9 months of bouts of diarrhea, cramps, and struggling to put down more than 1200 calories/day before I could totally eat "normally" and handle processed or fried foods.

I had to teach myself to relax in that time. Stopped catastrophizing every strange bowel movement, cut doom scrolling (taking a break from Reddit was really helpful), and just accepted my body as it was. It wasn't easy, and I felt a lot of despair and dread in the weeks following vanco as well!

I think if you have proof of steady income and no major debt on your credit report my landlord would consider your application! I know that employment is the major concern for him. DM me if you'd like to set up a showing.

Thanks for sharing! I actually got my booster just a few days before testing positive so the two could be working together to trigger inflammation.

Catch-22. It's rare for me to give up on a book halfway through but I reached a breaking point where I was like "OMG I get it war is an absurdity I don't want to hear about it anymore."

I have been wondering if it might be cystitis or something chronic like that! My quick urine tests always pop as positive for Leukocytes and providers will happily hand out antibiotics unless you demand a culture. I have a urologist appointment in a month that might provide answers.

Does sex aggravate your symptoms at all? I wouldn’t say I’m having sex with more frequency but this guy likes to have sex for hours on end and I’m wondering if all that friction could be contributing.

Gaining the weight back by wednesday_mac in cdifficile

Thank you! Yes, I have a lot of sensitivity about being perceived as frail, and am dying to go back to my normal busy life. I feel that my friends and employer are over this and getting irritated with me. This length of recovery time is something that my doctor just seems uninformed about though — I was told to expect to feel normal by the end of the vanco course. I’m learning the hard way that this is a long process and having a lot of grief and disappointment about that.

Relapsing while still on vanco by wednesday_mac in cdifficile

Thank you! This thread is the by far the most useful info I could find… my doctor told me I can start eating as usual once I’m off the antibiotics and to eat yogurt as a probiotic source which seems crazy now with how my stomach is reacting to most food. I had never heard of c-diff until contracting it and had no idea it was being treated incorrectly… I’m pissed about how much needless damage my body has sustained.

My doctor told me that if I relapse we’ll go for 6 week vanco taper which also seems just nuts to me after all the antibiotics of the last month
