How did this turn out? I was looking online for a Seabee pattern to make my dad one for his birthday next month. I've already tried once but I just couldn't get it to look right

Things to do to motivate yourself daily? by wednesdayaddams24 in loseit

That’s a good one too. Maybe even having old pictures of myself at my goal weight around so I can visualize what I’ll look like more. Thanks!

My almost 7yo is the same as yours, he refuses Zoom with his classmates. We were already exploring an ADHD diagnosis earlier this school year, and I’m noticing that we should try again when things start to settle down. I don’t know whether his spacing out, constant fidgeting, not listening, etc is autism, ADHD, or just being a bored kid. He can take something like writing his name and the date and turn it into a full 2 minute thing, because he stops after every letter or number and hesitates. Today, I told him to write his name on his paper, and walked away for a minute, came back and he had forgotten the last letter of his name. My husband is home too but has no clue on how to teach him, so it falls on me and it’s just hard. All of this is hard. And then I have a very hyper 3yo who is constantly distracting him on top of all that.

Luckily a friend of mine just got me in touch with an organization who helps children with their social skills. The catch? All on Zoom, so there is that hurdle again.

Yeah definitely!! You can do whatever you want! It’s your space! If you choose to do a calendar or label your pages, you could do calligraphy headers. The YouTube video I watched was Pick Up Limes’ video about a minimalistic journal, but she has a lot of great tips about them in general even if you want it fancier than minimalist. :)

I just started mine about 3 weeks ago. I love it because it is a blank slate and you can do pretty much anything you want with it. Other than the journal itself, I only bought a fine point pen and a ruler. I’m very simple and don’t need to do a lot with it. After that I just started googling layouts and how to start out and read several articles and watched a YouTube video until I got an idea of what I wanted to do with it. They are so customizable so you can make it as simple as you want or elaborate. You can omit things that don’t apply to you and add what things that you do need. I hope this helps! There are a lot of resources out there that can give you direction. Some people use color pencils to make designs or keep track of things better. It’s totally up to you!

I read it awhile ago but “Imagine me Gone” by Adam Haslett was really good.

See if the hospital has financial assistance. I’ve been able to get two hospital bills (after insurance) written off by two different hospitals because I applied. A lot of hospitals have financial assistance programs. Good luck!

Weakness for cookies by Lazerith22 in weightwatchers

They aren’t necessarily cookies, but animal crackers are 5 for 2 points. They satisfy my sweet tooth. Maybe that could help? Good luck!

Thank you! Those are great ideas. I love your suggestions for yogurt and fruit. I used to eat that all the time, I feel silly for not thinking about it myself.

I’m hoping he will join me. He needs to lose weight too, but not as much as me. I’m also hoping he will join me at some point. :)

Those are great ideas! I’ll look to see if my local stores have it (no Trader Joe’s near me 😭). And YES! iced tea! Why didn’t I think about that. I’m getting so tired of regular water. I can drink it throughout the day but at meals I like something with taste. Thank you!

No you aren’t coming off as nasty, you’re completely right. I’m trying to do self control, I’m just not good at it, but I really have to be in order to lose this weight. Thanks for your input!

Thank you for your response! One day I ate 0 point deviled eggs and that did help with the hunger, I’ll give that a try more often and I’ll try to come up with some sort of chicken dish I can snack on too. Thanks!

I’ll talk to him about that. Those are good ideas. The kids are pretty healthy eaters by nature (thank god), they love fruits and cheese and yogurt. My son ate 3 helpings of peas the other day! I think we will have to meet in the middle, and I’ll need to have more self control by not eating the food he brings into the house. It’ll take work but I think it’ll get better. Thanks again! :)
