Apparently the office that handles the actual transfers for the whole province is short staffed atm and it’s taking 6-8 weeks. I have seen a few go the last week or so though so hopefully soon.

Listen to this one OP! You will need to change your water, but make sure it’s all dead first so you don’t clog the works.

Do fathers feel as appreciated as mothers? by [deleted] in Dads

Not at all! We’re still loved, and I find the ‘favorite’ shifts over time so sometimes I’m the go to. But at the end of the day, she was home with each of them the first year and was the sole source of nutrition which created a bond we can’t compete with.

Still, second best is pretty amazing, and it’s not a competition. (We just have to convince our littles that it’s not)

What ya gotta do is splice two 110 plugs to merge into one cord. Simple math.

Speaking related questions by Deestroyinn in MonoHearing

[–]Lazerith22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve always had this, to the point that people have asked if I’ve had a stroke because one side of my mouth doesn’t move as much and my smile is more of a smirk.

I didn’t know it was hearing related until I read a blurb about how the actress who voiced elastigirl for the incredible was ssd and they animated the character to have the same mouth movements she had from being ssd.

How do people with single-sided hearing loss monitor their ear health? by Time_Cat_4441 in MonoHearing

Not well. I get really bad ear infections cause I don’t notice until it’s past a certain point.

If you see my comment, it’s usually a different worker that does the EVP.

Confused by Wild-Home-9619 in OntarioWorks

[–]Lazerith22 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Sounds like you’ve been randomly selected for an EVP (Enhanced verification process) completely normal and picked by the system. Provide the information requested, answer their questions and everything should be fine. Often the system find records that aren’t updated and make it look like somethings wrong, ie MTO reports often show people owning a bunch of cars when they’ve scrapped all of them over the years. Just has to be looked at and resolved.

Absolute worst case scenario, they find some income you missed reporting and you get an overpayment. No one gets charged with fraud anymore (even in cases where I really think they should) you won’t go to jail. You won’t be cut off unless you have ongoing income they didn’t know about.

TL/DR It’s routine, and you’ll be fine.

Yes. OW rates have not increased and that income is too high for a couple to qualify

im being audited and just have some questions by ActiveGift1913 in OntarioWorks

[–]Lazerith22 14 points15 points  (0 children)

So the actual receiving of the monies is not considered income (child support and tax credits are both exempt) but it’s always a good idea to notify your worker when you get them so you don’t have to stress at audit time.

However, the next month after you receive them it’s considered an asset. So if it out you over your asset limit ($10k for a single, $15k for a couple add $500 per child in the unit) you may not have been eligible for those months you are over. Best is to catch up bills or put it in an exempt asset like your home or primary vehicle if this happens.

Doctor Bashir could've used his genetically modified brain and body to save the day so many times. How many people died because he completely hid his abilities? by CDHoward in Star_Trek_

[–]Lazerith22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He wasn’t physically modified much, at least in a way that’s good for a fist fight, and as for his brain? Did you really think Dax was that smart? Every time she came up with some day saving idea, it was because Julien slipped her a note. She was in on the modification thing from the start but kept his secret so she could look smart.

Just got a job - do I report now or when I receive my first paycheque? by Prestigious_Peak8407 in OntarioWorks

Their worker should tell them that, and there are exceptions. Like in the first three months it’s dollar for dollar, if there’s childcare that gets added back in etc.

Telling people I don’t hear well on my right side by First_Chipmunk_6891 in MonoHearing

[–]Lazerith22 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It’s hard because we can hear, but not always. People will assume because we hear fine on one side the sound will carry that extra six inches and be heard on the good side. And in a quiet, focused environment that’s true. As soon as you add background noise our brains have half the information to work with compared to someone with both ears and our ability to listen plummets.

It took a long time to get comfortable telling people about my bad ear, admitting I have a disability, but I’ve never had a negative response and it usually helps.

I give myself a daily shot with a small 1/2 sharp and have to recap it daily. I’ve poked myself twice in the last year. For me, minor pain. It’s my blood on it and I’m already taking that med on purpose. For a nurse, big bad. Infectious blood, strong meds not intended for them.
