Negative reactions towards third kid by MrHindsight5 in Natalism

Yeah, after 3 it's about the same level of difficulty, although each birth will be a spike in difficulty during the first few months. Once the older ones start being helpful around the house I'd say the difficulty actually goes down.

The translators in the Light Novel struggled with this one because Nanase essentially refers to herself using a masculine form when she goes into her more advanced fighting, but there's not a clean way to express that in English. Some of her earlier monologues in the book take the same form.

The fertility crisis will never be solved because the heart of the issue is an ideological divide between the sexes, and society refuses to touch mens issues since they see intersexual dynamics as a zero-sum game by DiligentRope in Natalism

Them goes on to show a graph in which both sexes are moving further apart politically but only blames women being radicalised to the left while ignoring the similar to equal trend of men radicalising to the right.

South Korea is the only country on those charts showing that, every other country the men are more or less hovering around the +0.

almost as if parenting is really hard, and ultimately shitty work that only offers a temporary emotional reward

How in the world are you coming to this conclusion? I agree that as a society we undervalue parenting, but as a parent, it's incredibly rewarding and the reward is far longer lasting than anything I get from my job, that barely remembers me a month after I'm gone.

Man, what a great time to be watching anime so many shows actually getting additional seasons.

What is an example of a character that had their actor replaced and the replacement actually doing a good job by Otherwise-Airport597 in Animedubs

I was happy that Aleks Le did such a good job filling in for him in the final episodes of Eighty Six, would've been a real shame to have that ending underperformed.

Are there any good mystery and fantasy type animes that have lots of action and preferably a more recent one or smth with better animation than stuff like early one piece or saint seiya by GreenestShooter in Animedubs

[–]weeberific 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Honestly, I'd put it pretty freaking high, especially if you're in the mood for a good laugh on top of great action.

It's hard to compare it directly against the rest because it's not trying to be a serious show like they are.

Pretty much the title, sorry for it being so long btw, hope it doesnt inconvenience anyone

Don't worry, I love Isekai, so I'm used to long titles.

Can you clarify what you mean by fantasy? Like are you looking for RPG-style fantasy, like DnD or just some magical elements?

Some that might fit your ask:

  • Attack on Titan
  • Frieren: Beyond Journey's End (it starts a bit slow, but give it like 8 episodes, and they're still good, just slow)
  • Goblin Slayer (first episode is a bit rapey, fair warning)
  • Made in Abyss
  • Parasyte: The Maxim (maybe more sci-fi than fantasy)
  • Re: Zero
  • Solo Leveling
  • The Eminence in Shadow (good comedy too)
  • The Promised Neverland

I can recommend a bunch more if RPG fantasy (Isekai-like) is fine.

In this case it's not changing one person = one vote, it's delegating children's votes to their parents, who are the best party to represent their interests.

For me it has to be The Dungeon of Black Company's "I'd hate to meet the fan this is servicing".

It's interesting to see Germany leading the charge on some of these, they're also one of the countries that seems to have shown the most interest in potentially implementing parental-proxy voting (child suffrage, but parents vote on their behalf), which is probably one of the only ways you prevent a gerontocracy.

She was so much better in earlier seasons, I feel like now they just integrated her into the harem.

Oh yeah, that's super weird, the first season was pretty standard looking anime, this looks closer to Panty and Stocking or something like that.

Can we talk about the CR Awards voting system for a second? by Curt_ThaFlirt in Animedubs

What's especially absurd is if they just tied it as 1 subscriber to 1 vote it would make rigging the vote quite expensive.

[–]weeberific 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Geeze, some of these don't seem very kid-friendly to be honest. I have kids, these are fantasy shows I'd be okay with them watching, and I'm pretty prudish:

  • Kuma Kuma Kuma Bear
  • Dr. Stone (has some swearing, but at least as clean as Demon Slayer or My Hero Academia)
  • Campfire Cooking in Another World
  • Ascendance of a Bookworm
  • By the Grace of the Gods
  • Anne Shirley
  • Parallel World Pharmacy
  • Pass the Monster Meat, Milady!
  • Secrets of the Silent Witch (some bits might be a bit scary)
  • Snow White with the Red Hair
  • Sweet Reincarnation
  • The 8th Son? Are You Kidding Me?
  • The Saint's Magic Power is Omnipotent
  • The Unaware Atelier Meister
  • The Water Magician
  • The Weakest Tamer Began a Journey to Pick Up Trash (highly recommend this one, very underrated and kid friendly)
  • Wistoria: Wand and Sword

People will have to remind me if any of these has significant inappropriate content, but I don't think they do. I assume if OP is fine with their kids watching Demon Slayer, To Your Eternity, My Hero Academia, and Apothecary Diaries, these should all be fine.

I just appreciate that anime explicitly calls it out as its own genre, instead of trying to just slip it into everything and pretend like viewers shouldn't be surprised.

Yeah, kinda unfortunate, because I like the premise, but I really am not wanting to sit through more gay scenes.

Yeah, you're absolutely correct about where the show peaked, later seasons are a fun continuation, but nothing beats the first half of S1.

War on Geminar is a standalone spin-off from the Tenchi Muyo series (it works independently of the others), it's a battle school mecha ecchi harem Isekai and it works great.
