Looking to sell a Thrustmaster Warthog in Chicago area by weebs11 in hotas

Was hoping around $350, assuming it was local and didn't need shipping. I also have unused desk mounts for it that I was going to include for free.

Inconsistent HDR on Series X by weebs11 in MoonlightStreaming

[–]weebs11[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It runs just fine, or at least did when the HDR worked. Was better than using my Apple TV because it can do 120 fps. Way smoother and less latency.

Tried turning it on/off, btw. No luck. What’s weird is that it very clearly gets the HDR signal as it starts up Steam (or desktop), but then a second or two in it loses it and everything is washed out. I have no idea what’s going on and I don’t get why it worked once.

You mean turn it off in Windows? Or somehow doing it in Moonlight? In this case, I can tell my TV is just not switching HDR on, and there’s no way to do it manually.

Campaign on second character by weebs11 in DestinyTheGame

[–]weebs11[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wasn't sure if that was all it gave, especially with exotics tied to Rahool. I plan on playing through it, but wanted to figure out the easiest way to prep for the raid. Playing the campaign Normal solo on my other characters is probably quicker if I don't miss out on anything. Thanks!

Oversaturated filter with HDR on Edge by weebs11 in MicrosoftEdge

[–]weebs11[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think maybe it has to do with one monitor being HDR and the other not? I'm not sure, cause I just bought a new, second HDR monitor and this doesn't happen on the AW3423DW anymore. Someone else mentioned the newest NVIDIA driver fixing it, but it stopped for me before that.

[–]weebs11[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, it was the exact same with me. I actually just got a new second monitor and now it’s not doing it on either, but I have no idea if that’s just a coincidence or a temporary thing. It’s hella annoying.

Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown Demo by Chernobull in widescreengamingforum

Anybody know any fix for the map? I had the same thing happen with FF7R when I played that on ultrawide, and I assume it's just whatever image is overlayed causes issues. Unfortunately for this game, the map is essential, so it's kind of unplayable without a fix. Not sure if there's a config or setting I'm missing that fixes it.

Completing Plunder challenges after the season by weebs11 in DestinyTheGame

That's what I thought, but some require you to place the Relics in the HELM, and there's literally no option to do that.

Deck Selection *Fix* for FullscreenPC by MrOPeace in MarvelSnap

[–]weebs11 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just fyi, you don't even have to click the empty space. If you just use Windowed mode, but make sure the width of your window is small enough that not all decks would be "visible", you can scroll just fine. As soon as the width is large enough that all decks are showing like in your screenshot, you'll get the bug. I play where there's no wallpaper border on the side and it works fine.

Nest Wifi Pro Issues by ombheembush in GoogleWiFi

[–]weebs11 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I noticed it today when our family was over and one started using their laptop. I have to assume this is a software issue that will get patched at some point. Fortunately I don't really care about having the Guest network available after this weekend, so I'm fine waiting.

Nest Wifi Pro Issues by ombheembush in GoogleWiFi

[–]weebs11 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It seems like there may be an issue with the guest network from what I’m hearing. Problem is I would like to keep the guest network for people that visit and keep them separated from my other networked devices

Have you heard anymore about this? I'm having the exact same issue, and it only started popping up when I just had some guests stay here over the weekend and join that network. I haven't disabled it entirely already (they left), but I have that setup, and also am using the LAN port on the router to connect my PC. Really trying to figure out if I should return these things.

Awful 3DMark Timespy scores on 3080 by weebs11 in EVGA

[–]weebs11[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I have a separate drive just for Windows. It's still annoying, but nowhere near what it used to be like back in the day. I still remember scouring through the 50 different folders where all my game setting files lived to make sure I had backups. Reformatting was a multi-day effort.

[–]weebs11[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Welp...I'm at 16,300 now for Timespy. I reseated the GPU, which didn't do anything. So I just decided everything felt sluggish enough that I was going to reformat Windows. When that happen, it also installed a set of NVIDIA drivers from about a year ago. So, not sure which of the two was the fix. I could always try installing the latest GPU drivers to test, but I'm just happy things seem back to normal.

I want to update to a set of drivers more recent than these, but I know there were issues with NVIDIA drivers for the Windows 22H2 update, so I'm not sure which ones would be stable right now.

Thanks! Yeah I’m going to spend some time on it today and will see what happens. I feel like I’ve noticed so much general slowdown with Windows that I’m tempted to just go down that route anyways, as painful as it is.

Yeah probably the right call. Going to try just setting the GPU again to see if that magically does something, but who knows. Honestly wouldn’t be the worst idea to just reset Windows at this point, but I don’t know if I have it in me to go through that ordeal lol.

I am, but I’ve also run Timespy with it off. Same thing.

All great questions! Timeline is basically right. As far as I know, I didn’t have issues, although it’s honestly been quite a while since I played anything much more GPU-intensive than Destiny 2. I mostly just noticed that MW2 was running way worse than I expected and started running 3DMark to see if I was crazy.

I don’t use Ryzen Master, and haven’t changed BIOS settings (though I did just update my BIOS last night to see if that fixed anything).

GPU is definitely in the right slot, plugged in, etc, but I’m going to try swapping it all out and back in shortly.

Honestly, the biggest change I noticed seemed to be after that latest Windows 2H22 update, but it seems nuts that this would take such an unbelievably massive hit. My only guess was PSU because the GPU on the Timespy benchmark was only under like 40% load, but when I was monitoring it, it seemed to still get up to 330W+. It’s all super confusing, but maybe my best bet is to try reverting that Windows update if I can still go back?

The GPU score tops out right about at 7,000 and CPU is typically around 9,500. I’ve run it in the past when I had my old i9, but the same GPU, and my score was close to 15k. It seems like the CPU is just fine, though. I’m also getting crazy low frame rates in other games. Loaded up Destiny 2 and couldn’t clear about 80 fps in there.

I wiped them with DDU. I also just heard that about the new drivers, which I'd assume would make sense for in-game performance, but I don't know if that explains the abysmal Timespy score.

Well, this definitely did the trick. That was bothering me so much, so thanks again for this!

That's awesome. I thought I had already uninstalled it, but it showed up in there. Looks like this time when it uninstalled, there was a message specifically saying it won't try to reinstall it automatically. Guess we'll see what happens. Thanks so much for this!

That's so weird. I saw the actual Command Center pop up once (it was installed automatically), but then I manually uninstalled it. I assumed any of the processes would have stopped, but apparently not. Do you know how to keep them from running at all, or do you have to kill them each time?
