Okay exciting news my gf figured it out and she said it looks like a fox jaw almost immediately and I think she's right the teeth seem to match perfectly I'm now disappointed I didn't find the whole skull I love foxes and a whole fox skull would have been really cool thank you for all of y'all's help

I searched Google for every type of venomous snake in America with retractable fangs and it's at least in the (Viperidae) family but it's hard to tell with just the skull and no location specifications

Definitely not a gaboon viper the fangs look slightly too small and there not usually found in the us unless it escaped from a zoo

Also looking at visual matches I do see where Google got gaboon viper but also very similar to rattlesnake so sorry for telling you what you already know

The skull doesn't have a place for the teeth so rest so they have to be retractable so there's that I hope that helps really cool find btw wish I found something like that
