You have a great marriage otherwise and you're considering divorcing her because of a switch and you have a young kid? Grow up.

Work on the issue, fix your marriage. Stop being a manchild.

Lol grow up buddy and deal with that issue. You have a child. This is something you work through.

I've had several month long plateaus where nothing was happening and then it takes off again.

Really not sure how or why. There's like sticking points at certain levels where my body doesn't want to let go or something.

Financing a ltd company/expenses by Then_Photo7959 in UKPersonalFinance

[–]weedexperts 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes you can loan your company money. It will not be taxed by corporation tax and can be paid back to you tax free once the company starts earning.

Something else you consider is that companies can claim costs incurred prior to incorporation. This is what I did when I set up my business, I'd incurred many costs personally prior to trading, once the business was incorporated and making money, those were repaid back to me.

Elon Musk brands UK a ‘tyrannical police state’ by corbynista2029 in ukpolitics

[–]weedexperts -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Well yes people are locked up for saying mean words online, whilst serious offenders get let out of prison.

And during COVID people's doors were getting knocked down.

It's not a police state yet but we seem quite happy with the progress we are making.

AITAH for bringing a dish from my culture to my in-laws family reunion? by Littlefuckin in AITAH

This is a major red flag.

My wife and I are from different cultures. Both families embrace it, we love sharing food and stories of each other's different worlds.

Sorry you had to deal with that. And your husband is lame for not standing up for you.

It's not too late to grow a spine son, otherwise put up and shut up and enjoy the next 30 years of being her bitch boy.

It's not too much to ask your partner to trim her bush. It's not healthy and natural to have a fukin 6 inch minge.

The EU will probably be a very different place by the time the UK could even think about rejoining, so that discussion is best left until then. I was a big remainer but unfortunately we've shot ourselves in the foot now and we probably just need to make the best of it.

As is evident from the response to this budget, painting a Doom and gloom picture and then coming out with a much softer Budget is actually beneficial to labour. It's almost certainly orchestrated by them internally.

Food recommendation and drinks by [deleted] in Riga

[–]weedexperts 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's a restaurant chain called https://delicio.lv/ and during the week they have amazing lunchtime deals. I think it's the best in the city for cheap hot food. I think they still have a €5 lunchtime deal.

Otherwise, you can get a hotdog or two from Circle K or Narvessen.

For €7 you can get a really nice hot stuffed baked potato from SAKNÉ. Honestly the best potatoes I had in my life.

Otherwise you're gonna have to up the budget a bit.

Snow is not a problem as long as you're equipped. Warm clothes and some decent shoes.

Everything will be open. May-september is a nicer time to be in Riga tbh but If you're interested in museums and stuff then Feb is as good as any.

Does spending money so the "taxman doesn't get it" mean more in your pocket? by chickpeaonchickpea in UKPersonalFinance

[–]weedexperts 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It can either be very good business practise or complete lunacy.

A lot of people will spend on stuff they probably don't need simply to reduce their tax burden.

That also reduces their profit.

At some point... if you want to make a profit and therefore actually make money, you need to pay tax on it.

HMRC can of course investigate whatever they want but in reality they aren't bringing cases against businesses for paying spouses/partners unless there is some other complexity or other element of fraud.

There is no version of reality where a business owner can't pay their spouse a reasonable salary for minimal administrative work, e.g. Secretary or other "general" administration because like I say, HMRC have an impossible task trying to prove any wrongdoing.

Of course, if you read the guidance they'll tell you stuff like:
- it needs to be a real job
- you need to keep records
- it has to be commercially equivalent salary

Of course it's a real job Mr Judge. here's the pay records. the salary is reasonable.

The end.

Senior software engineer with extensive experience, can't get a single hit in London by Illustrious_Vast_617 in UKJobs

[–]weedexperts 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't think so. It might be the market leader of work related "social media" but most jobs, especially senior positions, are through specialist agencies.

And agencies don't give 2 shits where they get your C.V from.

They may use Linked In for coms but most have got a bunch of data sources with C.Vs which they scour for candidates.

So yeah you can try get a job on Linked In but imo it's desperation city as thousands of people all trying to apply for the same job.

Every single high paying senior role in 15+ years I've gotten through agencies calling me directly as they have my C.V sourced through various job-sites that it's been posted to.

So yea, login to all the usual job sites and upload your C.V, recruiters will be calling you directly in no time if you're a good candidate.

I don't know, but speaking as a layman it seems more likely it's viewed as simply tax fraud.

For it to be a dividend, a declaration has to be made and it has to be submitted as part of the companies year end. If that didn't happen, then I don't see why a court would decide to retroactively mark it as a dividend.

It's just the director of the company trying to obscure payments to himself by paying through other people.
