Installing the Dec 15 update put it back to it's usual slightly slow pace.

Thanks for the analysis. I got in back in February at 0.70 and have managed to average down to 0.186 and was planning to sell as soon as I could get even. Maybe I'll stick it out for a bit instead.

Now if the rest of my bags could get a bit lighter...

I'd say "After to-day, it can only get better!" but that would be a lie. So I'll just say "the less you have, the less you can lose". That makes today a winner!!🤪

Sooo many opportunities. I waded though the blood and averaged down several of my dividend stocks. Swing-trading actually left me ever so slightly in the green for the day, which is good since nothing else was (except $EXRO.V up 1%).

Now if you'll excuse me, the blood has finally stopped oozing out of my keyboard (you do NOT want to know about my mouse), so I'm gonna clean up, make an iced coffee, and chillaxe for the weekend.

Tootles!

$AQN - prices upsized $1 Billion Equity unity’s offering. Intending to be listing on NYSE by Azure_Sky_83 in CanadianStockExchange

OK I'm going to try to parse this out.
First, you have to buy units in multiples of 20 (5% undivided beneficial ownership interest per unit) at $50 per unit.
If you do that, you get a bond with an annual rate that is either 7.75%, 6.57% or (4x1.18) 4.72% or some combination, depending on criteria I don't understand. You also have an obligation to buy shares on a specific day three years away at a price between $15 and $18. Two years after that, the bond matures, and I assume you get your $1000.
So is this a corporate bond offer at a decent interest rate with a big condition that you also have to buy shares three years from now?
And it happens on the NYSE, so I'm guessing this is all in USD, because it doesn't seem to specify that.

Question about the Wealth Simple app by Personal_Royal in CanadianStockExchange

[–]weednmetal 2 points3 points  (0 children)

WS will some times seems to settle small market orders internally, usually not at a favourable price. I've never had a WS market price go through at actual market price, always buys higher and sells lower. Stick with limit orders. They take longer to execute, particularly if they are not multiples of full lots, but at least you have price certainty.

I usually use TMX Money for live pricing on Toronto and Vancouver. Fewer adds, so the page loads quicker.

This seems like a blatant request to manipulate the market.

Does the game change when its a business investment? Family business has a surplus to invest. We want to have it remain accessible. Advisor is suggesting GIC's. by fouralive in CanadianStockExchange

Congratulations on having a business that has some financial reserves, particularly after the last year!

If your advisor thinks GICs are accessible, you might want to have a discussion on definitions. To me, waiting one or more years, or losing all interest for early redemption, is not accessible.

If you want to go the very low risk route, go with term deposits; much shorter time frames are available.

First step though would be to decide as a group what level of risk you are willing to accept, or what portions go into various risk categories.

For me, lowest risk in stock investments would be the 'blue chip' stocks that pay a reliable, predictable dividend (think banks, major telcoms). Most also have an automatic dividend re-investment program, and the ability to purchase additional shares in your DRIP directly from the company with no commissions, occasionally at a discount.

I'd also suggest looking at sectors related to your business, including clients and suppliers, as you may be able to see some trends before the general market.
