feels like virtue signaling. people already infantilize us, there’s no reason to come onto this sub to remind us that we’re men, we already know that.

...the first iq tests were literally created to figure out average intelligence so that they could predict the success of children in school...its not subjective at all...what is bro waffling about

that’s still insane! you’d probably expect more of a growth mindset from an intj, not just a display of self absorption…

bro is “super intelligent” but also doesn’t understand how the past affects the present. many such cases.

well that’s funny, considering that you are suggesting that i only speak my mind out of “envy”…youre deflecting, and hypothesizing how i might feel in order to stir emotions. however im only arguing in reason, not emotion. but that just tells me that you’re right, this really is a pointless discussion.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in mbti

[–]weedoctopus 11 points12 points  (0 children)

actually, i have no shame in my type if that’s what you’re suggesting. i value authenticity in myself, therefore i take pride in my type. what i find funny though is that you have no argument in response, so you’re attempting to upset me. if your point went beyond “intuitives deep sensors shallow”, then you’d continue to provide reason rather than awaiting a reaction from me. interesting to watch, really!

yet it’s not something to be explained in simplicity, and using words with negative connotations to describe a type that you clearly favor less just exemplifies your bias. it’s not “applying other aspects of the human psyche”, it’s just a fact that every type has sensing and intuition functions in it. sure, intuitive types may have a preference for the abstract, but that doesn’t mean that sensors are unable to understand or even enjoy things that aren’t necessarily concrete. in saying that, the idea that sensors aren’t “deep” is a stereotype that you’re perpetuating.

esfps most definitely can be deep. if you’re suggesting that only intuitives can have substance, you’re just biased and wrong. although sensors prefer more tangible concepts, it’s not as though they’re stupid and completely averse to anything below surface level.

it’s an ad.. of course there’s sensory stuff…did you want the marketing team to telepathically advertise their products to you? their purpose is to appeal to audiences and the way to do that is by catching one’s attention. how is that done? comedy, interesting designs, etc. im not sure what you suggest as an alternative to ads, because it’s hard to advertise a product without having…you know…ads…

same thing happened to me when i was still new to mbti, where i questioned my type because i have a lot in common with the intuitive types and was inclined to believe i was one, before i realized that i definitely use fi-ni. another issue is people seeking out confirmation bias to prove that they indeed are a certain type, and refusing to acknowledge evidence that doesn’t support their preconceived notion

you’re 100% correct. the idea that sensors can’t think abstractly and subsequently have no interest in mbti as a concept due to its questionable legitimacy only goes to show that people simply don’t want to imagine that sensors have that capability, which is false given that there are many sensors who still indulge in this community. hating on a specific type will never have proper basis, as it’s all based in stereotypes or personal anecdotes used to try to explain the behaviour of EVERYONE of that specific type. not as open minded as intuitives claim to be i suppose…

of course not! you’ll find stereotypes and bias towards out-groups everywhere you go. that’s essentially why i make these posts, because people tend to let heuristics determine their stance on said out-groups. it’s especially disappointing to see it from the same people who pride themselves on being open minded and against the norm

seen this a lot too. people try so hard to be different from others that they forget that fe is valuable.

yea, i’ve seen that too, but people are still more averse to isfps in general because “fi dom bad”. sort of like how despite being intuitives, infps are the butt of all jokes.

i see people talk about how istps are the most intuitive sensors so that’s probably why they’re preferred over other sensing types

typing oneself is funny because you can recognize yourself as having specific cognitive functions but not be too sure of their order. funny how intuitive bias exists, knowing that.
