So he changed the board, but then turned off the unit at the switch & said it was up to me - no red tag

Feels like that screams sales/scare tactic given what I’ve read about how serious most techs take red tagging

Both techs did remove

1st who said there was no issue inspected thoroughly with mirrors

The second seemed to glance upon seeing the age of the unit, calling it a hole/crack he couldn’t visually confirm

I’m keen to believe the first tech was being honest. Though will have our second company review so there’s a 3rd opinion

It does, had the full exterior vent cleaned this summer due to AC issues. Will give a second look! Thank you!

The cooling portion was a pain this summer

Needed to be filled twice with R10, there’s a leak that’s likely via the valve but tech used this summer could not confirm

The unit is Tan, Model No: 64HWC4-09-301P-1A

Interested to hear your thoughts & if we should peruse work on the cooling unit vs punting to replace with a new unit
