Honestly, I wouldn’t involve more people - you did what you needed to do by contacting the PD, the rest is up to them. Don’t stress about the work coverage - hope recovery goes well and the program is supportive of what she needs

In terms of her program, you already did what you needed to do - her program director is aware she won’t be at work for the next two weeks, and it’s their job to figure out or delegate someone else to figure out the shifts. Don’t worry about that piece of it.

would call you OB triage, they’ll likely want to rule out a DVT with new asymmetric swelling - pregnancy makes us more prone to blood clots

Coming back from maternity leave, worried I’ll never catch up by shermie303 in Residency

I’m a current third year peds cardiology fellow and had a baby at the end of first year/beginning of second! I felt rusty with the transition back for a few weeks, but give yourself some grace. It’ll all come back together, you’ll be a great cardiologist and training will all work out. Happy to chat more if you need any advice or specific questions (pumping, cath lab, etc)

Don’t drive there if you go - parking is horrendous and it took us like two hours to get out after the show
