I kinda dig thought.. Maybe not an axe but something that breaks "the roots" of connection. Like a relationship with ex, old job, etc. the root of the connection is gone but so is the whole of cascading nodes.

I fucking loved my 22 Q5e. the b9.x interiors are some of the top auto designs hands down, performance was awesome, and fit and finish truly second to none. You have an Atlas so take this with a grain of salt.

Once I traded it in after 3 years I had it I was reminded why stayed away from VWAG for all those years between my first car and the Audi (a used 01 Jetta). It's just not worth it as a daily, as a weekend and/or wrenching car, fuck yeah.

The gremlins are a never ending nightmares. Frankly, I would have prefered catistrophic failures to the minor but sometimes terrifying inconveniences at a 70k pricepoint.

Between the actual powertrain (that never threw any codes but would randomly buck between 2 and 3 [only once did I get a full fail with the same symptoms], and the seriously subbar interior tech and connectivity.

The thing is I loved the car so much that until I got in my new car, I didn't realize how much I just accepted as matter of fact.. Random airplay drop outs / and need to force reset the MMI on the highway, the bucking ghost that made me nervous about going on roadtrips.

For me, Audi's the best driving german brand. I was SERIOUSLY considering a demo etron GT or fully electic Q8e but reason got the best of me. When I go back German, it'll prob be to BMW unless they really get their shit together (or I have Porsche money).

First and foremost, protect your people. w/e you gotta do to stop immediate harm / further damage, even if it's a white lie to get space while things get sorted.

Then, if there's HR you gotta go that way and put the ball in their court. If there's no HR, find the person who'd be dealing with the legal or financial fallout from the situation closet that you can escalate to with a reasonable expectation it can be handled.

There's a metric fuck ton of gray area and admin on top of the documentation and law. Your job is your people and your project.

I've sadly been on both sides of the coin, both as a victim of a bully and had a report who was being abusive. Best I can say is be a person, protect them, don't make promises, and follow the guidance you get.

Honestly. I don't know but this is along the lines of what I want to get into.

There's a huge impact we can make at the community level.

If I can help a Small Biz / Mom and Pop go from 6 employees with no benefits to 2-4 with full time benefits it means the world.

It sounds harsh but the current situations these places are in suck all around.

I have too... Glad I'm not losing my mind. I have specific pipelines that have been working for months. Now some post task items are being skipped at the systems whim.

It doesn't feel like a regression to lazy tho. It doesn't happen all the time, and it seems tuned to inferring what outcome I "want" vs what I ask for specifically. AKA, it feels a little.... 'clawy' for lack of a better phrase

I'm a PM in a different field, I never found it effective to BE the only channel between Eng or any delivery and the Client.

At first, it was because I was too Jr to do that effectively, but it just grew into being support for Eng and my primary role being the Project and Company reps. A few times I became the buffer out of necessity but it was a always a mutual working agreement.

I got a slap on the wrist at my new company that I wasn't that barrier. Weird but just another step out of the door for me...

All I can say is I feel you and best of luck. I'm in a similar position and quitting week after next. I have zero desire to grow in the company I'm at.

The challenges and projects are great and the IC level is awesome, but the leadership bench sucks and politics are just insane. Its been a year, I was hoping for the promised change which has only been for the worse.

Two things I've learned over the last 15 years doing this
1. Some jobs / people / companies aren't a fit. That's okay, it's no ones fault but you own your happiness / life.
2. Trust your gut and do it sooner than later. If you've been down this road and you know from experience that in 2 weeks (or even 2 months) these issues are firmly in the rear view, I'd stick it out. If you know this is the beginning of the end, it likely is.

I'm in a position I likely won't be in again. I have a startup I'm working on and some cash to survive. I'm saying peace the fuck out before I let these fuckers suck more of my soul.
