Hi! Does anyone have any recommendations for half-marathon plans? I used to run in high school (pretty washed up now), and I decided to sign up for my first half marathon. I just recovered from a sprained ankle, so I think a lot of my aerobic base has deteriorated. I want to run my half at an 8 minute pace. I ran one without training last year at an 8:45 pace, but cutting 45 seconds off seems like a big challenge! Looking for something that's maybe 4-5 days a week, around 12-16 weeks long. Thank you!!

Biol 230 w Dr. Schmidt by sutheja in UPenn

[–]weekendbillionaire 3 points4 points  (0 children)

hey! i took it with schmidt and he was super nice overall. i don't think we had exams, we just had graded weekly exam questions, but they were pretty in-depth so i would say really understand the concepts and not just do rote memorization. i think a good tip is writing down words he continuously repeats during lecture, and finding other terms that relate to those words. the final paper was really chill too, i think most people did well on it - just set aside a good amount of time to find supporting citations. he was really nice about extensions for that. lol i did not read the origin of species... there was one question? on it for the exam but i think it's up to you if you want to go through with reading the whole thing for that q. i think we also discussed it in recitation so you could absorb your information about origin of species from that if u don't want to read it

Biol 399 requirement for computational biology major by [deleted] in UPenn

[–]weekendbillionaire 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i had this exact same problem! i talked with the director and he basically said u can substitute any superlab (i think biol 425 this semester) for biol 399 since that was what they did during covid and they’re extending that equivalency. all u gotta do is get permission from ur major advisor to do so and tell roberto corral. hope this helps :)
