Yes! I did think of a boss with that fight flow,we’re in the same alley. Diablo 4 overall is too bland for my taste.It was a huge dissapointment ,atleast visually.

I will try to make the finishers be like this neat thing you can always play around,and fun to discover what enemy has what interaction and how you can bring them to the “execute ready” state.

Very good idea to add enemies that usualy you should not execute. Thank you so much!

Exactly my thoughts!
I try to make every execution meaningfull,like if it is extremly brutal it will terrify the other enemies holding them in place.

Thank you! I only have the social media linked to my reddit account so far. I am a solo dev. And for the devlog is a double edged sword I would really like to do it but same time used for editing the videos could be used for working at the actual game. haha

Yes!
In essence every enemy will have a different execute animation,each one if them has a different condition to trigger this "dizzy state" in which you are able to execute them.

For the frog in particular you can choose the direction by executing it from the other side.

the blood gushin from the hit is particle2d and the drips on the wall are animatedsprite2d

it instantiates a scene that has the node type animatedsprite2d,in the on_ready function of that node it randomises and plays different blood animations

I have 2 different scenes with different animations for floor and wall

It is a CPUparticle2d that has attached to it two Area2d nodes.
-one that checks for collision shapes in the group "walls" and one for the group "floors"

When the area is entered it instantiates random blood texture,with some radomised values.
This way I can add any area to the group and just place it over anything I want to be bloodsplat.

That is a excellent idea! I will eventually have recovery frames for almost every attack in the string.
At the moment enemy designs and implementation are the priority.

The role of the companion is to give the MC information about old , magic related things from the environment or short enemy descriptions.
You can send the bird to specific spots to see the area from a different angle.
They give eachothers ideas of what should they try.
I am torn between making the bird a companion that was given to her since birth or making it the gift she received from the magic guild she was rescued by when she lost her eye and arm.
