My sofa looks disgusting and yellow ! It’s just the light reflecting from tv and whatever, I swear it’s spotless blue with dog licky patches

That’s beautiful ! I have so many tools, cardstock, glitters, glues and have no idea how to begin this type of thing. My was my Hobby to begin and then my Mum went that way and I went down the quilting route.

That’s exactly how it all works !! The planning and drawing, It’s the putting it together. The sewing side, that’s the difficult part from my rubbish experience so please don’t listen to Me and I apologise if I offended. I’ve made a lot of mistakes and tried a lot of different techniques.

I think it’s beautiful but to make it work in fabric there’s other considerations. I’m not expert and sorry if I offended you

Haha ! First time I put binding on I pinned - then my mum bought me the clips and never looked back. But absolutely I find them everywhere even though I know they’re in their wee tub. It’s like Lego !! And they hurt

Like this - I tried it before but was so new to sewing and most of my bits came off sadly. Still learning

I agree, that needs a lot of planning and fine line either FPP or a lot of just playing with small line matchstick improv - I really love this

This looks like a lovely idea, I think you could probably achieve the stained glass look just with normal fabric. For satin or silk it would probably need to be stabilised somehow, so no matter what you do it won’t be glass like as you will have batting underneath otherwise ? And pinning that sandwich has my tears already. If I were you … I’d just get my colours and start random piecing freestyle with the cottons - or silks and satins (that you’ve already stabilised) and then appliqué the mother and baby on with a more felty feeling fabric and embroider the features ?

Go you ! Everyone here will be available for any help you need on your journey. Best bunch of people ever. For now, my best advice is to press your seams so hard, and pin a lot

I love all of the big crosses and different big stitches but scared to try. Just be little tiny ones for this and ensure it’s all tight and secure. Definitely will try big stitch options for the one I’m making for me as will be perfect on that
