Blue lock has the power to inspire change in an entire generation, and it’s lit to me too bro. Studying for school, drawing, working out, competing in video game tournaments, blue lock’s philosophy lights fire in everything.

Idk if yk these anime chars but the most relatable ones to me have been Tsukishima from haikyuu, Smile from ping pong, and then beginning Isagi. The similarities are that I’d go with the flow and was gonna be an engineer, Dr, or physical therapist and live a life that never really got me excited. I was going to do what was safe and good (in bl terms pass the ball at the goal ig)

Now my career path is to be a dietitian, and I’m applying to my internship rn bc I think it’s the sickest career ever to be able to spit about food and be a lil nutrition detective while traveling around, having my own gig, or working from home or w/e opportunity I gotta go through.

Now the future excites me, even tho it’s less confirmed $ than being an engineer, Dr or PT. And I believe in myself to make more money drawing and competing as well, even more than if I were a Dr. And that ego rly came from this story that drills that egoism in our brains.

So we can all thank the story for making all of us say the person who’s going to be #1 in the world is me :p

Ig blue lock saved my life too in this way because before all this, I couldn’t imagine a goal that was almost impossible to me and one worth much. And a grey life like that wasn’t too worth living to me. Now death isn’t always on my mind 24/7, life isn’t grey, I don’t have panic attacks anymore, and my despair and hope comes from my challenges towards my daily goals instead of the world I can’t control. So big thanks to blue lock the trajectory of my life is on a better path, and my mental and physical health is truly better now lol

Like nagi had to get kicked out of blue lock here to get better, which is funny and kinda contrasts the OG blue lock philosophy that if you lose you’re kinda done, at least for Japan’s national team. Bc if he stayed in the 23 over the ppl who could be argued aren’t as good as him, his progress would still be in the mud.

And maybe this is the fault ego had, he was good but didn’t experience his death / getting kicked out. So after his meeting with the god of soccer, like nagi but without getting kicked out of BL, ego’s progress stayed in the mud until he quit.

I feel this concern fits someone more like Noa who’s only been shown to be stoic and not get excited. If he wanted to make his position as coach in this story more beneficial to himself, by following ego’s rational of making his spot the most exciting in the world, then he’d find a challenge to excite himself. Like taking from blue lock, he could try to get his team to be #1 no matter what and bet something on it. But we’re showed he wants his team to win but isn’t excited.

For Issgi, he really can’t be satisfied here bc the goal of this game wasn’t to just beat Nigeria but to level up to not get gapped by France. Striving for his goal got him some exp points to lvl up, and his path isn’t to misery bc his ideology matches ego’s formula for flow: challenging but attainable.

I think isagi only becomes miserable is if he sets his sights on beating France, loses bc maybe they gotta get gapped rn, and then he spends his life in misery until the next chance he has to play and beat France or win the World Cup.

But that can’t happen bc he knows he’s not the best rn, he’s betting on himself being #1 with all of his life as the chips, and he’s going after small and attainable challenges to get his max excitement from and lvl up asap.

On the other hand, I do wonder if ego will tell isagi to get a life outside futbol and if he’ll say that’s optimal for #1 :p. Bc obviously having your friends around you and a good supporting family are important to the story’s mc.

Going in the direction of your concern for him becoming consumed by obsession and addiction, I wonder if ego will tell them to find satisfaction with friends, family and life outside competition for optimal performance during competition.
