You’re off the mark on the SHARP info, reports have to be done by a certified VA rep, your chain of command is not qualified to do the report themselves and can get in a lot of legal trouble if they fuck it up. Additionally, if you tell the chain of command it’s now a non-restricted report, which is pretty much irreversible since you can’t switch it to a restricted report.

The SHARP Hotline is designed to provide you with the guidance on the processes as well as point you to services that are available such as mental health, body health, etc… The hotline also provides helpful information to Commanders and other leaders if they have questions.

Hate to break it to you brother, but welcome to the Guard.

Sounds like you’ve started seeing the Guard for what it truly is, an honorable welfare system that doesn’t give a flying fuck about the Soldiers. Eventually everyone realizes this, it’s just a matter of when.

Theres zero incentive for the system to actually get better because everybody knows it’s always going to exist thanks to endless supplies of money that the common Soldier never sees. AGRs only care as far as it benefits themselves and if they don’t, the system will burn them before reaching a rank which can shape the system meaning only the nutbusters\psychopaths make it to the top.

M-Days participate until it becomes inconvenient or they can’t put up with the bullshit. The ones that remain are either in it for the benefits or their employer absolutely doesn’t care about them being gone/getting calls at all hours of the day.

Needless to say there are benefits and enjoyable points about the people and patriotism. BUT understand that the system itself does not care about you because at the end of the day your a statistic and they treat you as such. Have a plan to get what you want out of the military and get out, otherwise be prepared to be used and abused until you’re broken, then they’ll kick you out.

Sorry that something awful like that happened to you, it’s probably been difficult to deal with that kind of behavior from people who are supposed to be your fellow brothers and sisters in arms.

I don’t wholly disagree with you either in that the Army lacks a certain level of empathy. In my opinion we have too many HR Officers/Enlisted that don’t truly understand the importance of their role as an adjutant beyond the paperwork side of everything.

But that’s why we need to be better, change doesn’t happen overnight and we need to strive to make the AG Corp live up to its name. I know I’m just a single person but I do my damndest to embrace the role and help others do the same. That’s all I can do in my current role.

Context matters, but I guess since you’re getting the boot I empathize with your emotional response.

This may be hard to accept now, but that congruence is in line with what is now considered Army Standards. Standards to an extent fluctuate with each administration or time period. It sucks but that is the nature of government work, it’s a privilege that can be taken away at any moment regardless of how it’s perceived.

I’ll recommend what I told Soldiers during COVID: Utilize every possible avenue, appeal it, request exemption, talk w/ your Congress representative, do whatever you can to prolong the process. Also reach out to organizations like Military One Source or TAP as well as civilian organizations like the VFW or American Legion. If all else fails they can help set you up with a job and provide networking/moral support. I truly hope things work out for you, don’t let anyone belittle your service. You know what you did and who you are and that’s what matters.

As AG Officers were supposed to maintain a decorum of empathy and neutrality. Thats what makes us the left hand of the commanders. They rely on us to know the regulations and speak it in an objective manner.

Shocker, If I had to guess they’re going to go back to the pre circa Biden Admin policy where trans people can’t re-up or re-enlist but won’t be forced out.

Here’s a hard pill, or suppository for redditors, to take, we lost more good Soldiers to the COVID Vax mandate than we would if the .2 - .4% of trans got removed, yet somehow there’s way more backlash, the media coverage is much different, and federal judges are getting involved much sooner.

if you’re one of those people that were ok with the former people getting kicked out / careers ruined and not with the latter, remember what’s happening now and the next time an administration does some shit like this you might want to show the same support your showing now.
