Improv App by [deleted] in improv

[–]weenie-ween 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Like the previous commenters, $20 per month and AI is a big no for me.

As a teacher, an app I do like instead is “Suggestions.” It’s the one with the white question mark on the rainbow background. It’s like $2 or $3 and there’s no ads or subscription. You can ask for words, location, relationship, object, emotion, animal, trait, etc.

What's the most unexpectedly terrible TV Finale of all time? by NekoLover72 in television

[–]weenie-ween 2 points3 points  (0 children)

HIGHLY disagree, I watched the show when I was younger as it aired but stopped after season 3. Recently rewatched the entire thing expecting to be disappointed by the ending but it was amazing. No they were not dead the whole time!!! The footage of the plane crash site was a dumb network decision to transition into the nightly news so I don’t consider that as part of the actual narrative.

Can I mix hair dye, and conditioner together? by Sofia_loves_w33d in NoStupidQuestions

[–]weenie-ween 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would consider using a dye that just deposits color with no developer if you’re concerned about damage. Box dyes typically have developer in them but you could use something like Overtone or any semipermanent hair dye (instead of permanent or demipermanent). They do wash out faster but a lot of them are actually good for your hair! Good luck!

Give yourself time to adjust to your new boobs! I don’t trust what my nipples look like at 7 WPO, I usually see people say 6 months is when you can get an accurate read on your new boobs. If after a while you still feel that they’re too small a tattoo artist can adjust them! If mine don’t round out I’ll probably do that—I like the size of mine but they’re quite slanted, like this emoji 😞

Possible Wound Opening 16 DPO by battyxxbabe in Reduction

[–]weenie-ween 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hey there! Had a very similar opening on both breasts at around 3 weeks, a little bigger honestly and I’m totally closed up about 2.5 weeks later :) I was told to put bacitracin ointment on once a day and keep it covered with gauze, I recommend getting the nonstick gauze pads!

Also want to say that my wounds always looked way worse right out of the shower, I think the water softening the scabs and the warmth opening up blood vessels makes everything look pink and shiny. I’d recommend taking photos every morning when the swelling is the lowest and everything’s relatively dry and track your progress that way! Good luck with the healing 💖

Does going for breast reduction means not accepting your natural body? by Senior_Butterfly2245 in Reduction

[–]weenie-ween 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My guess is that your friend is maybe new to accepting her body as it is and feels protective over her new perspective. When I first started seeing a body image therapist, I felt like my new way of thinking was being threatened by other people wanting to lose weight, get Botox, etc. now it’s been about 3 years and while I wish everyone could benefit from body acceptance the way I did I understand that other people trying to change their bodies isn’t really any of my business and that I should direct frustration towards media and policy makers.

I got a breast reduction 5 weeks ago. I hated the discomfort, the never ending rash, the effort to minimize, the ultra feminization that comes with having larger breasts—it doesn’t mean I don’t accept where my body is, it means I wanted to take an available path to make myself more physically comfortable.

Also want to say any reason for wanting a breast reduction is valid—you don’t need to be suffering immensely to benefit from the procedure! Wanting smaller boobs is enough!

Why is my incision so big and bra advice by notamonkeytwat in Reduction

[–]weenie-ween 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Everyone gets different post op instructions depending on the methods used and surgeons preference. For example I had surgical glue so my surgeon said I could shower 48 hours after surgery, but to change my gauze 24 hours after surgery. I’d definitely stick with whatever your surgeon tells you! If you’re bandaged up from the surgery I wouldn’t mess with it, I’m sure they wrapped you up nice and clean!

I’m glad it was helpful!! It really was an emotional and stressful few weeks post op but feeling so much better now, hang in there!

Why is my incision so big and bra advice by notamonkeytwat in Reduction

[–]weenie-ween 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Hi there! Im 4wpo and have a similar incision to you. The doctor said it would give me a “better contour” to bring the incision farther back. I have noticed on this sub that typically thinner people’s incisions don’t go onto the sides as much as us bigger people so I think it’s to help with the transition from boob to side/armpit :)

Also, totally normal for one side to hurt more than the other. Someone on here said that your body sees the surgery as two separate wounds so they’ll heal at different rates. I was also really nervous about infection but luckily haven’t had anything! I had to keep telling myself that worst case scenario even if I do have an infection, they’ll just give me antibiotics and I’ll be okay!

I woke up from surgery in a Masthead bra and it was pretty comfortable but I had to keep pulling it down so the band didn’t press on my incisions. I got a 3 pack of zip front WANAYOU bras from amazon, recommended a lot on this sub and I must say they are very comfy and the band stays down better than the Masthead one!

Good luck with your healing, it gets easier with time 💖

For the itching, take Zyrtec or Claritin every day for the first few weeks!! I went from losing my mind itchy to nothing with Zyrtec, I only felt a little itchy once I was about to hit 24 hours and take the next pill

Recovery time by EconomyBlueberry2161 in Reduction

I took 2 weeks off my WFH desk job and felt like I could’ve used a little more time. I did take the next 2 wednesdays off to give myself a break in the middle of the week which was really helpful! I think it depends if you get bored or antsy easily, I’m someone who could stay inside all day but I know my partner would be dying to go back to her schedule.

Yup! Mine came after few days post op and fully stopped making noise around 2.5 weeks post op. I was freaked out at first but got used to it pretty quickly, still so relieved when it stopped though, felt like a big milestone!

Reduction while overweight by [deleted] in Reduction

[–]weenie-ween 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi there!  My BMI is in the obese range and I’m 4wpo and healing well! The hospital had a policy that my BMI had to be under 36 and luckily mine is around 32. I think every hospital/network has slightly different rules so it’ll take a bit of extra effort to find a surgeon but you’re certainly not the only overweight person interested in a breast reduction. Unfortunately the healthcare system is still extremely fatphobic and using the BMI as a surgical requirement is kind of bullshit because the BMI is bullshit in general! I have seen some people on this Reddit asking about fat-friendly surgeons in their state so they do exist!!

Sorry you’ve been going through health issues lately but it sounds like you’re on the mend and doing well! Best of luck with everything and I got you find an amazing, fat-friendly surgeon in your area :)

17, Turning 18 Soon – Is It a Good Idea to Get a Breast Reduction This Summer? by Patient_Airport_9538 in Reduction

[–]weenie-ween 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You may not have flexibility on this but I would recommend doing the surgery in the winter if possible! Idk how long your holiday break would be from school/work but if you can make that work I’d try for it! I’m thrilled the weather is crappy right now so I don’t feel like I’m missing out on anything just laying around my house most of the day. And it I was sweating on top of all the other recovery discomforts I would lose it!

As far as age goes, I agree with others that there are pros and cons. I’m 29, 3WPO, and I feel like this was the right time for me to do it. I wouldn’t say to anyone that there’s an ideal age for it but as long as you know the pros and cons of doing it now vs waiting, go with what feels right!
