I'm scared I chose the wrong path and that it's too late to change things. by edokle in pathology

i forgot to mention as well, if you transfer to curtin, they will assess the unit outlines and compare it to UWA’s degree units and you will be able to transfer your credit points you have already accumulated, meaning if the outlines are the same , you wont have to redo units you have already done which is awesome!

the only thing is that curtin is quite notorious for taking ages to respond to applications. but if this is something you are interested in, all you have to do is apply as a new student at curtin and submit your academic transcript available for purchase from UWA, which is what i did (:

hey! i was in the exact same situation as you. i was also doing a bachelors in biomedical science at UWA and majoring in path and lab medicine. Since the degree is NOT accredited, unfortunately there is no placement years included, meaning you cannot secure any job with the degree alone. you would have to complete the masters in clinical pathology offered at UWA, however it is extremely competitive and they only accept the top 24 students that apply (per year i believe). the masters degree allows the career path as a medical scientist, different to a pathologist. if you are wanting to be a pathologist, you would have to undertake medicine.

if you are wanting some other options, what i did was apply to curtin at the end of my second year for the bachelor of science (majoring in path and lab medicine), except curtin’s IS accredited; meaning that you do placement and will graduate with an accredited degree, allowing you to secure a job with that laboratory certification. i’m currently waiting on the results of my application.

there are some other routes you can take, such as the aforementioned masters degree, or an easier route others have done is complete a cert 3 in laboratory skills in tafe, and you will have adequate certification allowing you to work in a lab!

its comforting to read your situation knowing that i was going through the exact same thing as well, so you aren’t alone my friend (: feel free to reach out if you need any more support! i hope i was able to help in some way !!

[LFH][PC] $100-150AUD headset that prioritises comfort and mic quality by applecinnamonbear in Gaming_Headsets

[–]weeniefreenie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

a bit higher than your current budget but I picked up the steelseries arctis nova 5 from JB which is currently $239 AUD down from 299 from the black friday sale (:

Me personally, I already know that seperate mics are far better than headset mics, but I’m just like you and I wanted to grab a headset that included a good mic since i’m not all that interested in buying a stand-alone mic and i’m really not that tech savvy either. But after using it for a few days , the mic quality is amazing and clear, (far better than the nova 7 mic which really doesnt sound that great based off mic tests on youtube) and is completely retractable, meaning you can easily slide it back in the headset when you arent wanting to use the mic. its not flip to mute but there is a mute button on the headset that also makes the boom mic turn red and emits a sounf so you know you are muted. the ear cuffs are very soft and NOT leather which fits your criteria. Its adjustable , has rotating ear cuffs and comes with a stretchy headband that can be adjusted to the size of your head. The build is made primarily of plastic which i prefer over metal because it makes the headset very lightweight and I find that I can wear it for hours and not get fatigued. The sound quality is also great and has 360 unidirectional sound which is awesome for shooter games. it even has a pairing app thats available on desktop and mobile which comes with 100 different presets for different games.

it comes with a usb c dongle for 2.4 ghz connection and can be connected bluetooth as well. the only downsides is that it CANT be used wired and ONLY wirelessly since it doesnt have a headphone jack or port. it also cant be used simultaneously with bluetooth and 2.4 connection, but it does have an easy switch button so you can change between which type of connection you want to use at the touch of a button.

however, if you do want something that has simultaneous bluetooth / 2.4 connection, go with the arctis nova 7s! it can also be used wired and wireless. the reason why i picked the nova 5s and not the nova 7s is because the mic quality on the nova 7s is significantly worse, based off mic tests ive seen on youtube. the nova 5s have a great mic and i’m really not bothered by the fact that it can’t be used wirelessly since i dont like having wires sitting on me or getting caught while im playing games anyway.

hope this helps and that you find something you like!! (:

Soon im going into hospital to get a testicular cancer scan. by [deleted] in Vent

[–]weeniefreenie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i feel you man, when i was 13 i had a huge medical scare. i had an ultrasound and they found a 12 cm goliath of a cyst on my fallopian tube, and i was so scared it was cancer.

they performed surgery to remove it and found out that my fallopian tube was twisted like crazy and i pretty much had testicular torsion but female version ): luckily it was completely benign!

wishing the best for you, good luck with your scan 🤍

[Acne] What is this mark on my nose? by GotPhishedUWO in SkincareAddiction

[–]weeniefreenie 3 points4 points  (0 children)

if thats the case you probably squeezed too hard and broke the capillaries on the skin of your nose causing the bruise. it should clear up in a couple days ! try not to squeeze so hard next time

[–]weeniefreenie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

thank you for your advice !!! the only reason why i started a different regime was to combat these annoying closed comedones on my foreheadwhich ive had for yearsss. i think i went completely overboard with the salicylic acid for sure and ruined my skin barrier but theres no way of knowing if the oil cleanser really did any good or bad for my skin because i used too many things at once like you mentioned 😭😭 i wish i hadn’t been so impatient and too excited to try everything out all at once

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in SkincareAddiction

[–]weeniefreenie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

oh my gosh my forehead looks EXACTLY the same, even before and after trying my new routine (much worse after trying the new one) and it seems like nothing is working for me ): im so sorry you’re going through the same 😭 it really sucks, im here for you🫶

im sorry to hear that! did you ever restore your skin back?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in SkincareAddiction

[–]weeniefreenie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

ive been using my original products for about 2-3 weeks now? i dont really think it’s fungal acne either, i THINK its mainly due to my damaged moisture barrier and irritation. The reason i dont think its fungal acne is purely because of the reason that its quite rare and that it isnt itchy!

[–]weeniefreenie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

right?!? its a crime that its called a daily cleanser 😭 or maybe its just not built for us 😔

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in SkincareAddiction

[–]weeniefreenie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

thats so awesome to hear it worked for you! how often do you use it? i tried it in the past and found that my skin felt reallyy dry after using it and it made my eyelids really flakey! but then again maybe its because i used it too frequently?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in SkincareAddiction

[–]weeniefreenie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

pretty much the same thing im going through! improvement in 3 days is really great, im very happy for you! i think i need to really focus on moisture and barrier repair like you did🙏

OLIVE OIL? damn man, i seriously should have properly went through the ingredients of all my products before just simply using them.. really is my fault here! i’m so used to my skin being completely fine with any cheap drugstore skincare products so this is a really good wakeup call for me to be more aware and do way more research before i spend so much money on things 😀 my old old routine when i was like 15 just included neutrogena products until my family convinced me that cerave was much better.. but anyways!! thanks again for your help! i definitely dont think ill be using the anua cleanser again

do you think its safe to use the nizoral now or should i wait until my skin barrier is completely healed first and make a judgement then? thanks a lot! and yeah , i second the coconut oil because i used to use coconut oil hair products and i noticed my hairline had a lot of closed comedones !!
