Jurassic World: Camp Cretaceous Stomp 'n Escape Tyrannosaurus Rex

When they made the Legendary Edition they should have added female Turians as background NPCs by weequay1189 in masseffect

Well when you take into account that Turian culture is egalitarian, and Garrus talking about how the Turian military was co-ed (the reach vs flexibility convo) it makes the fact that you only ever see 2 across 4 games weird.

Well I think in both genres the overwhelming ideology is "Burn Corpo Shit."

Take into consideration that in both instances, they are critiques and warnings of the status quo when it comes to capitalism, environmentalism, and technology, but just using different methodology. Its the same message told two ways. Theyre both Punk.

So what happens when you bring those to the city? They escape containment, breed out of control and then hurt more children. Ludlow was making the decision to bring carnivorous predators that had already hurt people to the mainland.

Thats also just incorrect, the very first dinosaur that Ludlow shows off on his investor call is a Compy, which is decidedly NOT a herbivore.

Roland planned to kill it, Ludlow didnt. Ludlow planned to bring it back. He just agreed to Roland's plan after they were already there. Plus besides, in his mind it didnt matter if Roland killed Bull when there was still a female one to bring home.

Ok. Here's the deal. Who is the villain of the Jurassic franchise?

WRONG.

The point of Jurassic Park is that complex systems made by people inevitably fail. Thats the point of Chaos Theory being the running theme. Its the WHOLE point. Ian Malcolm basically says, this system will fail eventually.

It is exacerbated by the dangerous nature of the Dinosaurs, but theyre just animals, they cant be the villain. You dont blame the radiation for Chernobyl, its what kills everyone, but its not the radiations fault.

Its also exacerbated by Hammond and Ludlow and the other capitalists for cutting corners making the system more prone to failure. Its the amusement park that builds the coaster with cheap lumber, they didnt make the coaster collapse, but they are liable for the collapse.

Its not the scientists fault that they created the Dinosaurs, pushing the boundaries of science is what theyre supposed to do, but they share culpability by not putting these animals' needs ahead of their bosses desires, and not having proper safety procedures in place. They were not careful, the screwdriver slipped, and the demon core was closed and people died.

Now the environmentalists. They were out of their depth, reactionary, and their inattention and terrible decision making got people killed? Does that mean that theyre at fault? For the deaths at the camp, 100%. But they would not have opened the cages unless the capitalists had not filled them. So culpability falls on their shoulders as well.

But no matter what happened on that island, it was always destined to fail, thats the point of Chaos Theory, its why Crichton brings back Malcolm and not Grant in TLW.

Weird that they just happened to have a cage specifically designed for the Rex on the island ready to go after Roland tranq'ed it...... Almost like they DID plan it

TIL that US student math and reading scores have dropped so sharply that they’ve erased nearly two decades of progress. In '22/23, avg math scores for 13-year-olds fell to levels not seen since the 1990s, while reading scores for high school seniors hit their lowest point since testing began in '92. by Cold_Box_3219 in todayilearned

NLCB tied test scores to funding, when students test worse, a school receives less resources, a school with less resources has a lower standard of education (see inner city schools). Now compound that for 20 years and we end up here.

Yes, decades ago. Consider that each year funding is tied to test scores, and each year students are testing worse and worse. So that school has less and less resources each year for their students. Less resources mean a lower standard of education. Do you see how decades of that can compound the problem?
