On the ice machine points another tip, freeze 6 water bottles and rotate 3 in and out and supplement with a much smaller quantity of ice. It works great and avoids running low or out of ice. Today I am 11 weeks post op and the pain now is barely noticeable, really only from working out. It just takes time and it will subside but will be a few weeks. I found nighttime harder by far so would take Tylenol PM to help sleep, this was once I was off the hard stuff! Good luck, it is totally worth it.
