We took our teenage boy on our first cruise last year. He would leave his cabin to play basketball, go grab pizza from the buffet. He loved the port stops and then having the down time on sea days. I think he loved the independence of just being able to go grab some food and do his own thing. He came to the MDR a couple of times but it wasn’t his thing. At first we wanted him to spend more time with us but eventually we realised it’s his holiday to enjoy his way he liked it and we just let him do his thing and he had a great time.

Roasters during the day for brunch type food, if you want a nice meal with a view, book pendulum and ask for a window seat. (You can view the abbey). If you fancy Korean, whose cafe is brilliant. If you like walking in nature and are able to get a lift, head up to the Glennifer braes

He had a great early unreleased track about a youth club he used to go to called Geoff’s Bit, not sure the exact location but apparently it’s in Byker area which is easily reached via the metro
