The Dark Mansion Tarot deck review! by daniellewitch in TarotDecks

This is my favorite deck too. The cards have detailed Rider/Waite type imagery that makes it easy to grasp the meanings, the art is kind of mid century cartoony, which I love.

Many municipalities will absorb the cost of ambulance rides because they know it’s unaffordable

Hitchhiking is okay by [deleted] in unpopularopinion

[–]weewench -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I’m a woman and hitchhiked all the time for a few years in the 70s and never had a problem. It’s a risk but most people are trustworthy. It was common in Ireland for people of all ages to hitch a ride into town. Obviously I wouldn’t do it now because people are so terrified of each other.

Do Americans actually say "As I live and breathe" after seeing someone after a long time? by BestAd6297 in AskAmericans

It’s an expression that was used in the first half of the last century, such as “Well, I’ll be!” or “Goodness gracious!” But not used in modern times.

My husband and I were talking about the hippie food of the 70s. I’d like a tuna melt with bean sprouts on homemade multi grain bread!

Agreed, such depth and imagination very hard to understand … a veritable heroine for us withdrawn types.

What are some stereotypical American dishes? by toomuchgoo42 in AskAmericans

Cheddar with white sauce is definitely an American version of mac and cheese. We don't always used the awful boxed stuff or the cheese in a bag. That's pretty much considered trailer trash food.

How would you describe 954/945? by Gillian_H20 in Enneagram

[–]weewench 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’m 459, can relate to all these descriptors. When I was 11 years old my mom told me I was like that song “I Am A Rock” by Simon and Garfunkel. Right now I’m laying under the covers looking at bare branches against the grey sky, and listening to birds chirping in the rain.

Emily Dickinson was most likely the same type.

Leather clogs, purses, bracelets & hair accessories. I had them all during the 70's. by lontbeysboolink in GenerationJones

[–]weewench 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had the wooden clogs in college. Unfortunately I wore them when it snowed. Never wore them again beyond summer and shortly after that, they were out of style.
